Melee Kiting, sort of.

Post by Snipzor » Tue Jan 28, 2003 10:28 pm

Hello all, I must say that MQ is great. I just started using it a few days ago to work on my necros casting skills, now I'm looking to do alittle more :P

I play a necro and a monk, what I'm looking for is a way to keep my monk in range and attacking the mob that my necro is kiting/fearKiting. I tried using the rogue code from roguish(modified for monk), but the monk wasnt responding fast enough. He lagged behind the target and spent most of the time trying to get back to it.

I am running EQWx2, so there is alittle lag. I'm not sure if this is why it isnt working, or if all the movent thats done to try and keep the rogue behind the target (not a big deal because it will always be running away) is just to hard to do on a moving/turning mob.

So what I am looking for is...
1) Assist the necro, follow the target kicking/clicking epic.
2) After target dies, follow the necro.
3) Wait in camp.
(all of these on command ofcourse)

If the lag from EQWx2 is going to make this imposible then I am looking for somthing to do the kiting for my necro. The macro would only have to run through 1 kite, I can handle finding a mob...etc..
So just somthing that runs in a circle and casts 2-3 different spells on a timer.

Thanks a ton, once I get some time I will look into figuring it out on my own.

I did look there, and used his rogue macro. The problem I was running into was that it responded to slow to stay on a mob that was always moving. If this is because of the slow down from running eqwx2 and not two seperate computers, then I guess I will have to figure out another way to do it. (find a macro to kite and control the monk) The code for the rogue macro has alot of stuff for staying behind the mob that I dont need. The mob will always be walking away, so my monk will always be behind it. (like a pet, there is no command to put your pet behind somthing)

I am going to try some of the others that I have seen here, but was thinking that one made just for chasing a mob might be possible.

Your problem is EQW. Playing 2 or more toons on the same computer will lag out the toon in the background to the point it can't keep up via /follow etc.. user to be able to play well using the Old old UI (the box) but that stoped working about a year or so ago.. EQW use to have an .INI file that would let you control the forground and background window but dosn't anymore. The only way I think this would work is if you use 2 PC's.

You could try to change your view port size cant remember the command /viewport I think to make it much smaller might help it run smoother.
