incorrect cliant version

rather new to this. complie went off with out bleep. but any time i atempt to login i get a small info box stating "incorrect client version" i had this set up once before almost a year ago right after that hugh nerf when SoE was all like we are going to stop cheaters.. yeah, sure, ok. anyhow. troubles now. idea thoughts rants. hey we all love those.
have not updated to OoW yet cause i dont have it.
EQ is running out of a odd dir. not the normal installl path (D:\EQ)
i run it in EQW.

have you tried, redownloading MQ2?
from what i can tell MQ doesnt care where EQ is installed, just changes offsets held in memory by the game. My 2 boxes have EQ installed in a different path and it works, so doubt its that

or if not redownloading mq2, are you trying to play on an emu server? if so then you need an older version of mq2 to work with that eqgame.

i have atempted to search for this. i suspect it has been covered a number of time because i get more then alot of threads. none of them although seem to cover my issue.
playing on live servers. redownloaded and recomplied. same issue.

try patching. If you have the NEWEST MQ2 zip, and the newest eqgame.exe from SoE. You will not get this error. If you are still having problems, go shoot yourself cause we don't give a fuck. There is no way you will get this problem by having the most up to date versions.

unless you're on some wacky foreign language server that uses an older version or somesuch..in which case we still don't give a fuck :) :)

Its simple, there was a patch today. There was no MQ update for it yet. You have to wait.

Before todays patch, MQ2 was working for everyone who built it properly. If you where getting a wrong version error and your EQ client was up todate, you had the wrong MQ2 release code.
But this is all a moot issue. MQ2 is broken until the next release. Look for that and start over.
