/mapshow problem

I recompiled with the 19th-b release and mq2map works great now. But now /mapshow doesn't seem to be working for me. I can't get /mapshow to show anything at all. and if I do the same /mapshow npc ... twice in a row it gives me identical "<#> previously hidden spawns shown", yet still shows nothing new.
I tried toggling some of the /mapfilter options to see if that had an effect... no luck.
Can't contribute any more info than that.

Thanks and good luck.

just to confirm, you have tried "/mapfilter all"? that basically turns it on or off.

Map is basically broken at this point and primarily on purpose. I'm trying to isolate what's causing the CRASHES ...I'm not concerned about breaking things or things not working at this point. Something is not right with the plugin as a whole, and it's not something that's obvious, so I'm trying to stop it from loading up certain spawns ..and that code is probably screwing around with filters and everything else.

Let's get to the point where people aren't crashing anymore...then I'll go back and fix shit.

hahah.. ok... that sounds darn good to me. I hit the crash bug a few times where you try to bring up map and it crashes. I can live with buggy functionality for a week or two instead of multiple crashes a day from map or the regular eq ones.. heheh..

thanks much, and if I can help, send me a message.

Something's definitely not getting cleared when you zone, Ama. I've got the "2H Staff" items that appear now on the ground in omens zones popping up on my map in PoTranq. It *only* happens if I gate straight from the zone where the groundspawns are to PoT, but if I go to some other zone instead there's a high chance of them appearing there too. I'll poke at MQ2Map after I raid today if nobody else has it figured out yet.

Yes...somehow bogus shit is getting into the array, and I havn't had a lot of time to look into it since oow came out. So, a couple zips ago I put in a bunch of debugging info (you probably see that if you use a debugger) and that's when I noticed it. SO, then I put in a lot of new checks to try to clean out the bogus shit ..which is what's causing hte current filter problems.

Basically, it can all be fixed if I had a free night to look at it ....I'm currently at 68 and feel like I'm playing 24/7 ...so it's going to be a while.

There's been a not so obvious problem with the plugin for a while now, especially relating to groundspawns, that I was never able to find.

I don't know if this will help, but there's an inconsistency between the labels and the actual data arrays. I'll try to take a good look at this sometime, but it probably won't be until the end of the week that I have time. :(

I had a short time (15 minutes) to log on this morning before work, after compileing 9/24/2004 version. Map shows everything correctly, but it crashed EQ first time I used it after I zoned. I disabled ground spawns and havn't had a crash since, but that was only 15 minutes of playing around. Still, 1 crash in that short time.

I had several crashes the last 2 days while opening my map. After restarting EQ I always started with the map open and all fine; one time with a death but all others far away enough from MOBs.
It seems that I only crash the first time I open the map per zone and never the second time,... And it seems that I only crash if I open the Map right within let me say 1 minute after zoning. Maybe there is anything checking if I open the map the first time in a new zone and this takes a few moments and if I open the map while calculating it crashes?!

Hope this helps a bit to find the bug.

/mapfilter all (to turn MQ2 map off)
open Map
/mapfilter all (to turn MQ2 map on)

works fine for me right now. So at least this should be a workaround.

Well, I have been randomly Locking up / crashing after opening the map up and closeing it, it don't crash if I open and close the map... but it crashes when I open, close, then move my mouse over chat box. Seems really odd but I can almost make it lock up every I do it... and yes I used the search couldn't find anyone else that it happens to. After reading this thread I now know there is a problem with the map.... I will just not use that plug-in anymore. Just posting this as a possible new bug, or maybe it's not.

What if any custom plugins are you running? And since the latest patch did you totally do a new compile or did you carry over the old code?

I am running No custom plug-ins, sence the patch I did a complete compile. Added photo to give you a idea on how it's happening.

I did alittle playing around with it today, I set all of my /mapfilter setting in the ".ini " to 0 im guessing that turned everything off. I also closed the chat window that I was locking up on. After doing this I no longer lock up.
