ROFL.
No wait. ROFLMAO.
What kind of resources would you need to run 60 characters in the game? Whats the max on a state of the art system now? 4 characters without massive issues? Let's be super generous and say 5. That is at least 12 systems to run 60 characters.
Put that aside for now. Anything is possible, but I think it would probably take a lot of work to make this a reality.

shrug on my almost 4 yr old computer i can playably run 4 eq characters (amd1.8ghz 1gig ram gf4-4600)
p3 with decent vid card can run 2 fine
i have 2 p3's with decent vid cards
If you dont pawn your old computer gear most ppl upgrade every 2ish years or so , eq has been out 5yrs?
60 characters is just a figure i wouldnt personally plan to run 60 but if you can run 4 why cant you run 10 and if you can run 10 why cant you run 60

picture a university computer lab, with a dozen people all 3-boxing. now, remove 11 of the guys. there, not so infeasible. as to the coding, thats an entirely different matter. i suggest starting with small steps. also, do a multi-tier control system. have a single master tell group leaders what to do, then group leaders tell group members what to do. this makes each level far simpler.

Yea i was thinking of that... mainly because of raids (which would be the last step) since some raids you split forces to a degree to deal with things.
But I dont really plan to use it for any large raids, prolly max ever would be 12 people so biggest raid i would attempt would be like ntov
And i think having multi-tiers may complicate it more
Currently i have a 65 sk+bl+clr+shm was going to start there.
Used to play 3 on main and the clr on the 2nd computer or 2 2 , depending on mood i guess
