macroquest2.dsw

Hey guys, I'm trying to set up MQ2. I'm not very familiar with VC++ or MQ2 so naturally I have a question.

When I download the latest version and run MQ2Auth.exe then open macroquest2.dsw it opens in VC++ as an empty workspace. I did run the Service pack 6 like the manual mentioned. I am wondering if it is supposed to do this? I could not compile MQ2 until I inserted MQ2Main.dsp into the empty workspace. I followed instructions for compiling in the manual and it worked fine. However, once I get into the game I cannot see any output from MQ2. The MQ2ChatWnd is not visible. I tried unloading the plugin and reloading it. I tried loading the MQ2Chat plugin and unloading MQ2ChatWnd and I am still not getting any output. Most MQ2 commands seem to be working (/face works fine, /popup works fine, /who I think is working properly because it doesn't give me any output from EQ).

I would assume that the problem is because macroquest2.dsw is empty. If this is the case, then what all do I need to insert into it to have everything functional.

Thanks for your time. And sorry if the answer is painfully obvious, but I'm not seeing it :(

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you since I use VS.NET 2003, but I'd just like to thank you for properly asking for help. You showed a lot of intelligence with your post, and I really respect that.

I do know that there's 14 projects that get built in the .NET 2003 version:
MQ2Bzsrch
MQ2Chat
MQ2ChatWnd
MQ2CustomBinds
MQ2EQBugFix
MQ2EQIM
MQ2FPS
MQ2HUD
MQ2Irc
MQ2ItemDisplay
MQ2Labels
MQ2Main
MQ2Map
MQ2Telnet

Building all of those might get you what you need to be up and running.
I'm no expert though, so if someone says something differently, go with that, but this will at least give you a place to start.
