random lockups...

Just as an fyi...I was getting random lockups. my fix for the last version of MQ2 (6/3/04 version) was to turn off my virus protection for eqgame.exe.

Sony recommends not running a virus scanner while using ANY of their games as it causes excessive delays in file reads and due to various bugs in the virus scanners themselves, can cause memory corruption.
A grand display of Damned if you Do ... Damned if you Don't. You should run a virus scanner to keep your computer safe ... but the virus scanner may cause your computer to lock up while you're using the software that you want to run.
