Macroquest not running macro help plz thanks

If someone could help I would appreciate it. I try to run macros and all I get is this,
circle.mac
in red text, and nothing happens. I even type in commands for macros that arent in my macro folder and I get the same thing (i.e, /mac fishing ---- then I get fishing.mac (In red letters) and nothing happens) I have read a ton and cant seem to find out why I am having this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

The only times I've seen it do that are when it can't locate the macro you're looking for. In order for it to find your macros, you need to preserve the directory structure that's in the zip. All macros should be in the /release/macros directory.

I have the macros in the correct folder but I am not sure what you mean by "preserve the directory structure that's in the zip" can you elaborate please.

What did you save it in? Most likely it saved as circle.mac.txt
make sure when saving, you save under All File Types, when typing .mac at the end.

What I did was created a new text document and copied the macro into the text document. I clicked the text document and renamed it circle.mac
I also put the circle.mac text document in the /release /macro folder.
Did I do something wrong here?

Yeah, that file's going to be circle.mac.txt

That's probably what's going on. Download a copy of UltraEdit (great text editor) and try editing your macro files in there. There's even a syntax highlight file for UE somewhere on the boards here.
Anyways, by "preserve directory structure" I mean that in the zip file the directories are all specified already, and you should be using the ones in there. Now chances are you are anyways, since most of the new zip programs do by default, unless you set them otherwise.

More info: seems to only do it when typed from the main chat window for me... I switched to my tells window.. and it worked

kk you can do this with Notepad guys....
All you gotta do is open a new notepad text file thingy
Then paste yer stuff in....
Then save as : filename.mac
THEN go to the save as file type thingy.... you have to select the All Files option.... otherwise it will save it as filename.mac.txt
if you click the All Files option it will save it as filename.mac... which is what yeh want =)
