I have been playing with the MQ2 Hud, and would like to add some combat ability timers and the like for my monk.
I have my wizards abilities working fine, but cannot find a way to get things like Mend or Earthwalk to show up.
I cannot find the correct combination.
Have tried ${Me.Ability[Mend]}, ${Me.CombatAbility[Mend]}
Is it possible to actually get a time remaining for re use on those abilities.

Well, browsing the reference you will see that Me.Ability[name] returns the button that it is on. You'll also see that there isn't anything that returns a time for Abilities. But, I know that if you try to activate an ability, and it isn't ready, you get a time remaining. The question is, does this time come from the server, or the client?

My pure-speculation here is that it comes from the server. I say this because there have been many times in the past where a client would think an ability was available (fd button was up, etc), and when trying to use it, the server would report that the timer for that ability has not yet expired.

I've seen that happen too, but somewhere the client must think that the time is up so it will ungrey the button, I wouldn't think that the server sends a message each time a ability is now ready to use, and get it wrong.

Is this the same problem for Rangers with Trueshot and Weaponshield?
Ie its not possible to get a timer for them on the HUD?

Is it possible to make a plug-in that will sense that you hit a ability then start a timer on the client then have the hud report the plug-in timer.
Example
Hit ability kick(time=20sec or something)
Plug-in senses that the button is active
Plug-in starts a timer (given time for the active ability)
Hud displays that timer

Wouldnt be great for discs though...
Youd have to use the disc for the timer to start, though I guess thats no biggy really.
