Bug- not sure if it's MQ or EQ related

I almost never hydra, but when I do, about 30% of the time I'll log in and there will be no ground... like someone took the terrain and just hid it. Usually the only way to fix this is to exit that toon out completely and restart EQW. Recently, the people I compile for have been having a similar issue while running 2 accts.

This is not a crash bug.. I can still play.. the ground is still there.. but it's invisible.

This ONLY happens when playing 2 accounts, and as far as I know, only on the account that is logged in second.

The only people I've heard mention this are people who are using MQ...

This happens on both Win2k and WinXp boxes, both NVidia and Radeon video cards.

Since the problem isn't triggered by anything I know, I can't really try to test it without MQ.. since I could go 3 weeks without seeing it, or see it 5 times in a row.

I'm just curious to see if anyone else has had this problem. Couldn't find any posts using search.

No clue why it happened only way i could fix it was to log out completely .
This happened to me in Plain of tranquility.. But i didnt have any thing all i could see was others pcs . No walls no floor, no pok portal .. freaked me out .

How much memory do you have, and how many instances of EQ are you running?

Was only running 2 instances of EQ... I've got a gig of ram, 128mb radeon9800, p4 2.4 (that's the win2k box).

One of the Xp boxes that's had this problem is has 1gb as well, with a 128mb GeForce 5700 I believe.

Not sure if it's zone related or not.. I spend a lot of time in PoT, but it's also happened to me in PoV, and I think my friends have it happen all over. The strange thing was one time I tried to log in one of my other toons and there was no ground in the character select screen. This leads me to believe it's not zone related...

It's EQ related, it happens in any outdoor zone, but most often happens in PoP outdoor zones. It will happen when both chars are in the same zone. I've got no idea how to fix it, but I avoid it by fighting in indoor zones.

awesome.. I'm not sure HOW MQ could have caused it.. but since everyone I know whose mentioned the problem has been an MQ user, I figured I'd ask. Thanks for the info.

It's not MQ's fall. It's just the fact of so much memory being used. Usually this might happen when I've got like 2 EQ's, Music Player, and Instant Messanger server going. I've always been able to fix it by closing out my 2 extra programs, tunring on my stereo :), and re-zoning.
