flicker with the April 23 version ?

FLICKER:
My EQ windows never used to flicker with previous versions of macroquest including the April 21 version.
With the April 23 version, second update of April 23 (the one with the "23 Apr 2004 by Lax (more):" at the top of the changes.txt file), my EQ chat, group, and other windows are all flashing like a strobe light.
I can stop the flashing by setting the window>alpha>normal to 100 and the window>alpha>faded to 100. I can also stop the flashing by reverting back to the April 21 version of MQ2.
CANNOT CALL WHEN A MACRO IS NOT RUNNING:
I know that all the pre-April macros are broken with the sweeping improvements to MQ2. In the depot there is a macro from 4/25/04 that says it is up to date with the current changes and the author states that it runs on his system. When I attempt to run it, I get the error: "Cannot call when a macro is not running." I was curious if this error means I have not set up something properly and that the macro is working fine, or is the macro broken again due to new improvements in MQ2? The macro in question is the khiTS.mac tradeskill macro.
Many thanks to the developers of MQ2 and the fine authors of the macros. I am a noob I know, so if I have said something inappropriate, my sincerest apologies. Just in case, I am wearing my fire retardant underwear :)
