mq2itemdisplay=mq2itemdisplay
mq2chatwnd=mq2chatwnd
mq2fps=mq2fps
mq2eqbugfix=mq2eqbugfix
mq2telnet=mq2telnet

And my mq2telnet.ini in the same folder:

;**********************************************************************
; for use with the telnet server plugin -- mq2telnet
;**********************************************************************
[Telnet Server]
; port = 0 off, else put the port number here
Port=2222
; localonly boolean -- supposedly does a get peer name to compare address
; but you must use the hostname not 127.0.0.1 or localhost when connecting
LocalOnly=0

Remotely start MQ2? Have fun with that. You would remotely start MQ2 the same way you would remotely start EQ or your internet browser, etc.

Easy enuff to remotely start, I connect to my firewall box, telnet over to the EQ machine, and from the command line run macroquest2.exe..

I have another script set to remotely startup and login to EQ. thats no prob either.

And sure i can add something to just run /plugin telnet each time, but i figured since there was ini files with enabled= values then it should be resonable to assume that the telnetd can be started as MQ2 starts.

Flame me, flame me now.. or help - either way :)

Yes but, in order for the telnet server to work, which is in a MQ2 plugin.. MQ2Main.dll has to load.. which will not be done until EQ is running... so all you have to do is make EQ run..

maybe he means leave a telnet connection open (other then the MQ2 one) and have a script running so that if he connects to it and types in somthing it will start MQ2 and EQ,click i the i agree button, select a server, and a charicter (i'm not sure how he'd do those last 3 things), then after about 2 min he could connect to the MQ2 telnet server.....

Depending upon your access rights (admin) etc on your remote machine your connecting FROM you can use VNC http://www.realvnc.com/
Need it loaded on both boxes to run it. Basic virtual client software that works well.

Kinda lowgrade way to do it, but I can start EQ and MQ2 and character select Once its started I then use MQ2telnet.
Make sure you have the telnet plugin started from the ini file.

Its ok, I sorted it out..

VNC is good for some things, but kinda slow when tunneling thru 5 machines hehe. I just have a GUI map script which starts eq, logs in and selects server etc. But for some reason MQ wasnt starting right, all working ok now.

Cheers.
