I'm guessing it won't compile with visual c++ 5, but i just thought i'd ask. I just got a free and legal copy of it and wanted to be sure. thanks

I'd be leery of compiling with VC5 for modern systems as I am pretty sure it hasn't had a service pack since the pre Win2k/WinXP days. I suppose if you could get a copy of the VC6 includes, libs and everything then it'd work (maybe) but then you'd not have a legal copy of VC anymore, heh.

I didnt realize copies of VC5 still existed in the 21st century. My bad!

they made us do fortran and that was only a few years ago

famous quote by my teacher
