COMpiled for march patch >stil getting incorrect version

Hi I have compiled twice now the latest patch and all goes well until try run it and I get incorect client version.

Now this has happened before and I was told to change something in the release folder however I cannot remember what that was.


I would appreciate your advice

note that the "latest zip" is dated previous to the latest eq update. With [almost] each new eq update, there must be a corresponding updated zip.... A zip with a date later than the latest eq update (3-10) has yet to be posted.

I figured this maybe the case but as didnt see any posts on baord thought maybe everyone else is working fine.

Everyone that is working fine fixed their copies of MQ2 based on the information posted here. There should be a posting stating that the zip file has been updated. Also look for the date to change on the download page.

Still have no luck.

That was the last zip and the only zip I use to compile.
Still getting incorrect client 10th march 2004.

I guess I will await a further zip.

I figured this was the case.

Make sure you copy MacroQuest.exe from the latest zip. The exe file gets recompiled every time as well (or it is supposed to be, may get missed from time to time.)

No, as AFAIK, the Exe is never recompiled, because the source isn't included (and rightfully so), only the DLL's are recompiled.

Hi Zarla,

It may be that if your in Aus, you have to manually change the _ClientVersion in eqgame.h, right near the top, to match the eqgame.exe date/time stamp, then recompile.

This should fix it. If your not Aus ignore this.
