Ok, I followed the step by step post (with all the screen shots) and when all was said and done. I double-clicked MacroQuest2.exe and got this.

a required .DLL file, MQ2MAIN.DLL, was not found.

So I deleted everything on my computer that had anything to do with MacroQuest, re-downloaded, followed the Picto-Tutorial again and same thing happened.

Sounds like it is not compiling for some reason.

When I double-clicked on MQAuth.exe it opens a DOS window that simply says the following,

MQAuth0.h up-to-date
MQAuth0.h must be compiled into MQ2 to allow this computer to use it.

Then is promptly closes itself. The DOS window is barely open for 0.5 seconds, but multiple openings allows some readability to it.

I am on AOL and from start to finish, getting error, deleting everything, re-downloading, and getting to the DLL error for the 2nd time took approx 3 hours time, now is there any way I can get a version that is already compiled that I will not have to bother updating or anything. I just want the most up-to-date version and I will not upgrade unless any patches render it unusable.

Btw, where is MQAuth0.h located?

RTFM

You are failing to compile because MQ2Auth0.h needs to be in your MQ2Main subdirectory.

And no, you can not get a precompiled version. It doesn't work that way.

Locked.

MQ2Auth0.h is automatically placed in your MQ2Main directory if you ran it from the correct location. I will assume you didn't follow the instructions that said to run MQ2Auth BEFORE compiling...
