no damage just a free TL to bind naked =) this has happened 2 times to me on 2 diffrent chars ...... anyone else ???

Happened to me once in Eastern Wastes.

I do remember, though, that there was some sort of trigger nearby on the ingame map labeled "You Have." Don't think I was close to it, though.

It when a spell with an unknown id hits you, the magic equivalen of getting attacked by "an unknown hand", but I cant explain what hehe.

It's an EQ error. Essentially, there are only 4500ish spells in the game (I'm not going to look it up right now); however, the game stores in memory 5000 spell 'spots' (I suppose for future expansion). In those extra slots, they have those lines like "unknown spell" for a name, and "You are hit by a bogus spell", etc... for those. So, somehow, the game is getting your spell ID messed up and you're getting the information from one of those unused spell ids rather than the proper xloc spell id.

Dont forget the part about how a MQ2 dev could fix it in 10 minutes.

I believe it was also tied in with using offset hacks, and the server noticing it and killing you.

Nope, I was killed by the bogus spell thing with out using MQ 2 times durring the christmass mass repatching when MQ was broken.

The client scratches and skips like an old record.. hits the wrong track, and bang. Instant port to bind point, nekkid, and feeling pretty pissed off.

Hmm, glad I haven't run into this bug then, hehe.

Doesn't it suck that bugs always pop on the side of killing you rather than, say, giving you 50kpp?

May be related to the 'pain and suffering' thing too. I remember getting the bogus message once when I got knocked unconscious. But I suppose that could have been a coincidence...

It'd be nice if.. at random.. SOE would employ the use of a giveaway.

Where for a few months they would give out 25kpp once every three days, or something. To random folks, for random things.

Like DMs do in AD&D. Oh, you killed it rather originally, I never woulda thought about that. Challenge rating 3, treasure rating 70%, coin 30%... Screw that. You found 500 platinum in a bag of holding at his side.. there you go, good work.

You get the same error when Arch Lich kills you while you're afk.
