Buy Sell Blues

Post by Westcott » Tue Jan 06, 2004 5:14 pm

I seem to be having trouble getting any buy sell commands to work. It really henders my progress on creating new macros. I have tried my own scripts and they are all a no go. I've tried about 3 or 4 other scripts and they dont work. I see other people enjoying the benifits for this option and erks me. Please help. Maybe its something to do with my installation. I've tried alot of different things.

It would really help if you posted your macro code so we could look at it.

You should be able to do these commands from a prompt. For ease of use, find a merchant and open there buy/sell window and find the name of an item to test, perferably not the first item. Use that name in place of _item_name_

Code: Select all

   /selectitem "_item_name_" merchant
Did that select the item corectly?

Code: Select all

   /click left merchant buy
Did that buy the item?
You can use SELL if you change MERCHANT to SELF in the /selectitem

Code: Select all

   /click left merchant done
Did that exit you from the merchant?

If you post the results of each line wether it worked or didn't and what happened then maybe we can assist you further troubleshooting.

Along this same line of thought, is there anyway to use the item ID with /selectitem?

I don't see anything like that in the readme but hoping I missed something. I'm having some problems setting some variables when the returned result is multi-word, like words of tranquility, etc.

Thought maybe I could get around it by using the ID which is always going to be the equivilent of a single word.

I tried it manually as you suggested to Westcott and it did not work. Crossing fingers that I have missed something.
