Post by othello » Thu Nov 27, 2003 9:50 am

I have read through other compile errors and seems no one else is having same problem.

I am using vc++ 6.0
I follow directions on compiling mq2main.dll but it freezes at this point and doesnt do anything after that.

--------------------Configuration: MQ2Main - Win32 Release--------------------
Compiling...
EQClasses.cpp
MQ2Auth.cpp
MQ2ChatHook.cpp
MQ2CleanUI.cpp
MQ2CommandAPI.cpp
MQ2Commands.cpp
MQ2DetourAPI.cpp
MQ2DInput.cpp
MQ2Globals.cpp
MQ2MacroCommands.cpp
MQ2Main.cpp
EQLIB_EXPORTS
MQ2Mouse.cpp
MQ2Parms.cpp
MQ2ParseAPI.cpp
MQ2PluginHandler.cpp
MQ2Pulse.cpp
MQ2UserVars.cpp

Did you build the DLL first?

What's the path you're compiling in?

This is trying to compile the dll. cant get past that point.

path is c:/mq2-beta

I unzip to desktop, drag over to c:, run mq2auth.exe, open workspace, click build- set active configurations- mq2main-win32 release, then I hit f7 and end up with what i have in previuos post.

ps sorry for late reply ate lots of turkey and played in the annual Turkey bowl.

maybe when you're moving the stuff from the desktop to the mq2-beta directory you're not dragging the system files as well. try unzipping the latest build directly into the mq2 directory (or whatever u name it). it looks as though you are compiling correctly. make sure its the .dsw that you're opening and ONLY build mq2main before batch building the rest.

At a quick glance:

- Unzip it directly to the folder. Try naming it just MQ2, no dash.
- Once main is set as active, F7 to build just the DLL (should be a quick compile)
- Then batch build and you should be golden.

The IDE is defective, use nmake.

I found in good that the syntax for nmake is NMAKE [option...] [macros...] [targets...] [@commandfile...]...I have no understanding of programing so i have no idea what this means. Is there a way to turn nmake on instead of IDE or something like that. Please help i would be greatly appreciated.
