Please Answer: Odd cusor problem

Running MQ and using the latest offsets. Everything loads OK but I get a secondary cursor in the middle of the screen that seems to be screwing up all /click commands.

Anybody else have this ?

I am running Win2K. Anybody else running Win2K and not having this problem ?

Anybody who knows how MQ actually works any clues as to what might be causing it ?

Fippy.

OMFG!! Tell me you are not trying to RUN Eq and Macro on a $hitty W2K platform!!

Run, not walk to your nearest File-Crack Download site and get WinXP Professional. I bet half if not all of your problems will be solved by that one simple (and necessary) act!

W2K is over and never should be the OS platform for intense graphic and sound games. Especially one that was a KLUDGE to begin with, such as EQ. It was only meant to operate on Win95/98 platforms. The graphics are much smoother, and the old-fashioned MIDI sound files will not sound like they are being generated through rusty bed-springs.

Verant only recently got it to even RUN on XP, with all their DX8.1 and endless .DLL enhancements. And even now, that still is barely acceptable.

And pulllleeease, don't respond and say something lame as, "But EQ works fine on W2K." NO IT DOES NOT! If you think so, you haven't seen EQ on Win98, the way it was /meant/ to be played.

That is probably because you are trying to run a (uggh) *legit* copy of XP. hahaha. Get some cracked .ISO file copy of WinXP off a web file-sucker site, such as Kazaa, and your XP registration problems will go away. ;)

I would recomend getting a cracked version like PlayPal said. But I do suggest actually purchasing software. I did go out and purchse XP Pro, but when it came time to install I used a cracked version. I've seen to amny companies/people get busted and know better and always have my MS certificate handy

Its Old UI since I am doing tradeskills and I belive /click ing is broken atm for the new UI. I get the same problem on my Win2K PC at work(TNT2 Card) and my WinXP Prof PC at home (GF4 4600).

Hey PlayPal.
I use Win2k with EQ without sound cause the DX8 dll sux and doesn't handle sound as well as graphics, and to reduce the amount of work my box has to perform so i can enjoy my sessions of EQ without Graphics Lag, Without Rusty Bedspring sound, Without crashes to desktop for no apparent reason, without memory conflicts, or windows popping up over EQ telling me ther was an error..

See, i play EQ on my Win2k box without a single complaint, not a single problem, and actually i am quite pleased with it.

But, since you have that "i know it all, cause i do" sort of post above this, i felt the need to respond to it as a win2k user.
And i play it on a legit OS, so i can only get busted for hacking other stuff =)

Downgrade your EQ Game Box to WinME or even Win98 SE2. You will NEVER go back to Win2000 for EQ again. Promise.

Then you WOULD be able to enjoy EQ WITH all the graphics turned up and the Sound and Music running, and not have to Kludge your setup just to run it. Cause Win 9.x is what EQ was written for. Yes, the original coding is that old. And they cannot kludge it well enough to work with any newer OS. No matter how many patches they release. Even Verant admits this.

remember that when it comes time to Winxp SP1, all cracked versions will not be updateable!

Interestng to actually see a thread stating that W2K sux and XP is better. Sorry, but I am going to have to agree to disagree with you....

And with nothing to back it up, we hand the prize for post most likely to get ignored to Edgy! :)

Why do you say that Edgy?

I started playing EQ when it came out, on a 98 machine, skipped WinME, because it sucked, upgraded to 2k shortly after it came out, have always played with 100% of the graphics and sound (except music, who the heck wants to listen to THAT) and never had a problem. And I was/am running it on medioce machine, nothing spectacular. Newest machine running 2k, 1.7 gig, 512 ram, geforce 4, forget which.

Older machine, still running EQ with all graphics on, win2k, 1 gig, 1 gig of ram (have no place else to put it...) geforce 3. Oldest machine, runs a good half of the luclin models, 2k, 256 ram, p2 333.

Never have to reboot my systems either, unlike with 9x, which if I didn't reboot every couple days, a week at the most, crashed.

And what does all that 9x/win2k comparsion do for XP?
XP is built from Win2k, not 9x...

Yeah but XP is more DX and game friendly than 2k... 2k is still partially made of the NT mentality, where directx3 was fine for 3 years going ...

Eitherway, 2000's stability rocked 98SE and features rocked NT, and XPs additional stability and feature set make it, IMHO better than 2k

either way i think 2ksp3 is the last service pack so no more updates..
time to use XP anyhow.. or windows.net ;p
