Massive slowdown on second client...

Post by MattHensley » Fri Nov 14, 2003 6:27 am

I currently run a bot macro on a second eqw client which was working perfectly smooth up until today when I compiled the latest irc zip version of MQ. Now if my active guy is doing anything even remotely complicated it bogs the second window down big time.

Anyone else notice this happen? Have a fix? I guess I'm just going to go back to the last build I had for now.

Maybe related to the maxfps settings. You could try /maxfps fg 0 and /maxfps bg 0. This should be more or less equivalent to the "old" versions.

Also I vaguely recall reading something about #turbo not working with fps limiting or something? Sorry but dont recall specifics.

I use genbot and every now and then a MQ is released that makes the genbot.mac bog my system down. Were in its almost difficult to move around without turning the macro off. I have to revert back to the previous MQ when that happens and keep trying new releases until it "goes away".

With some of the changes to how MQ interacts with EQ, you may find that commenting out the #turbo line of your script fixes your slowness issue.

If, however, removing the #turbo directive results in your script missing triggers, you may need to do as previously suggested and wait for a corrected build of MQ.

With the FPS limiter it's in your best interest to either raise the background FPS or use #turbo in your macros.
