Whoops! I found a bug...

Good bug here... if you have MQ running, and die under level 10, your corpse has no items on it (of course)... BUT, you also spawn with nothing.

This could be a very bad thing, and I figured I may as well post it for Plazmic to look into when he gets back, and for others to be aware of and avoid.

EDIT: also posted this bug with more details on the bug tracker. 8)

You are running with new ui? People have been having problems with items going poof when using new ui + mq + running macro + zoning.

I am on my 7th Petition regarding this. However it has nothing to do with dieing. It has everything to do with zoning while a macro is running.

Err I should have said the 7th petition on the same set of items. Still haven't gotten a response back.

Still having nothing but trouble with the 'NewUI' and running the latest MQ even with the latest .INI file.

Sure, it starts up and all, and says "MacroQuest is Loaded" etc. A Macro even works fine (as long as it is not FISH.MAC cause that current macro has some trouble finding the Mouse under the newUI... etc. ;)

But 5 to 10 minutes into the game, regardless as to whether a Macro is actively running or not.. the New UI screen simply freezes and the game totally locks. Yup. Just cuts out cold, or crashes right to the Desktop.

Now of course you say, "How do you know MQ has anything to do with that??" I can understand you asking. But please accept my finding.

I Booted up 12 times with MQ Running, and 12 times with it NOT running. And each time, I made a random choice to boot up with MQ or not so it was a mixed test.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I chose to start EQ with MQ running, even with no Macros active, EQ locked after about 5 minutes of game-play. EVERY SINGLE TIME. After the crash, and as soon as the memory is unloaded, I call up EQ and can get right back into the game. No 1017 or 1018 errors.

Every time I ran EQ **without** MQ running...EQ ran perfectly, even for hours at a stretch. I did this to prove that there had to be some corrolation between running MQ and not running MQ and the game locking up. This has never happened with earlier releases of MQ or under EQ's old UI.

I hope other MQ users (who work with the NewUI and have the latest release/.INI) will let me know if they, too, find more lockups with EQ than ever before.

stick to the old UI - no problems with that at all.

Wouldnt even bother trying to get it working until all the dust settles with the new UI & plaz has released a version that works 100% with it.

all the new gui is good for is /bazaar...

Well, I love the new UI.. Been lucky, haven't had any problems as yet *knocks on wood* Except w/ Macroquest.. As the above noticed, after 5-10 minutes of using it.. Doesn't matter if I'm sitting or in combat, not using any of the enhanced commands, EQ will just crash me out to the desktop (only had the hard lock once).. I also noticed there was some performance issues w/ MQ running.. Game runs fine w/out MQ running.. So, my guess is memory conflicts somewhere.
