Creating a Macro.....

Ok, I have made it so that all my macros that came with the download open in Notepad. I noticed that all those macro's file types are MAC files. I have used the following code to do a Forage macro:

sub main
:loop
/doability <n>
/click left auto
/goto :loop
end main

When I log in i do the /macro forage.mac and I have tried to to:
/macro forage
/macro Forage.mac

Nothing works. But all the premade macros work fine. Do I have to get my macro file to be a MAC file type. I have no clue how to do that. There isnt a MAC file selection in the save as menu. Thanks

is the file you made named forge.mac? when you saved the file in notepad, on the last pullsown menu you need to male it *.* all files.

If you didn not do that and you typed forge.mac into the save thingy, notepad still saves it as forge.mac.txt Go to the dir you saved it and see if there is a .txt behind your macro. also make sure you put the macro in the Dir.

i went in and saved it as forage.mac and made sure it was listed under the "." All Files. Then I proceeded into EQ and tried it and nothing happened.

How do I make the file a .MAC file and not a Txt file. Regardless of what I save it as, it will still be a txt file. Is there something I need to download.

you can just rename the file, or if you don't want to, you can do /macro forage.mac.txt

Ok I tired to type in /macro forage.mac.txt and nothing happens I dont get any errors or invalid command.

I got this one working fine - provided that the windowed inventory is displayed on screen.

what i assumed was that doability <n> denoted the number of the current hotkey bank on left hand side, which is incorrect. the doability <n> is the number of the hotkey on the right hand side - under the abilities...!

Does anyone know what delay i should set for forage btw???

ok gap appears to be 1min 40secs - how long should i set pause command for - 100???

that will make the delay exactly 100 seconds.

M8,

Im using the code on the post above with no problems. All ive done is set the doability to 1 and put in a 100second delay as advised above.

/delay 1000

1.Make sure u r definitely saving as mac format and not text - use the mac editor thats been posted in one of the other forums
2.Make sure u r running 1024/768
3.Click on the Abilities button - make sure that Forage is the top left button (i.e. number 1) - then make sure doability is 1 (this was my problem - i incorrectly assumed that doability corresponded to hotkey bank on bottom left hand corner of the screen)
4.Make sure you got it on the Hud view (not the smallest window with all the buttons around the side such as options etc and not the greatest where there is no chat window present)

You can get it to work if you make sure none of your windows overlap each other.

It's all a matter of personal preference in window placement.
