I'm looking for a way to run an EQ Server (EQEmu isn't working anymore I guess) so I can run test macros myself without having the issues of getting owned by that unkown mob if MQ doesn't like something revolving around EQ. If I use new patch files and try and run EQEmu can i still connect? Hrm.. gonna go check @ EQ-Emu.

They (eqemu) try to keep the server up-to-date enough to work with the latest eqgame client, but a lot of the time that's basically impossible. I give them credit for keeping it as up-to-date as they do. Here's what I would try...
Run the eqemu patcher to get the latest eqgame.exe that currently works with their servers, and check the date on it.. Then search through the macroquest forums and try to find the offsets that worked with that exe... Use those offsets instead, and cross your fingers. If that doesn't work, it's probably because of struct changes, in which case you'd have to revert back to an older cvs version of MQ. But you get the basic idea, just try to match the dates as close as possible.
Good luck.

On second thought, why not just test macro's on a_large_rat in WFP noobie zone?
