Offset Question(s)

Post by Darkhearted_Wizard » Sun Jun 22, 2003 10:19 pm

At the moment to find offsets I can use the compare new/old disassembled eqgame. It does work. However, as I'm on the test server, this can be a pain as it takes a good bit of time to work through every offset in the ini and update them..

So here are my questions:
A) Is there a faster way? Have there been any attempts to write an offset finder or something similar?
B) Do I absolutely 100% need every offset? Which ones do I 100% need to run anything, and which are more conditional(specifically spellcasting as I'm interested in twisting macros mostly) and thereby not necessary to update.

Well, I wouldn't say you need 100% of them, but it makes it a damned sight easier in the long run.

Perhaps if you post the test-server EQGAME.INI offsets file, someone else who plays on TESTEQ would take up the reigns of keeping it up to date, the main problem is that structures change that much sooner than they do in the "real world" so making your job that much more difficult.
