EQW released cursor and /click

Post by AarynD » Fri Jun 20, 2003 11:22 am

This may be old news, but I just ran into it last night...

Playing EQ under EQW, if you have the cursor released, and then try to run a macro which issues a /click, it will lock up the game.

I've never had it lock up the game, but I know it won't send the /clicks properly.

I experienced it 5 times last night, all resulting in EQ lockups.

I'll spend some time later on today with a debugging macro, doing /echo's after each line of code run to see exactly which line is causing the lockup. Maybe it's another function, and not actually the click, but something is consistently causing lockups when the cursor is released.

My understanding is when running macros which do things. Click, chat, hunt whatever, the top most window must have the focus. This is also true even if just windowing out using plane EQ.

The EQ window did have focus. How else would I have been able to type in the command that launched the macro?

Most people use the telnet feature out of saftey concerns. I know I do. I never enter (or have displayed) any MQ stuff in my chat windows.
