Anyone remember last time /click was publically released? It's like dropping a nuclear bomb, when you have done it once you don't want to do it again.
I ask the MacroQuest developers to seriously consider not releasing /click. It will completely fuck up the market again and then bring massive nerfs.
That means tradeskillers, you won't have a single combine that makes profit, so raising tradeskills will cost much more. Sony will most likely do everything in their power to stop MQ.
Releasing /click publically is a big mistake, don't do it.

You could add : "But selling a compiled version of MQ with a /click feature is OK, guys"

Look sprite, the plat makers probably pay you 50$ to continue their platfarming activities anyway, so dont worry about it, you will get your money. And the rest of us who dont really care about making plat, just want to raise our skills and use click to mem spells and so on will just use it for that... If I where you I would sell MQ with the source included and call it a compilation fee. You are upsetting the good people at this board with what you are doing.
Please understand that most of your customers, dont buy MQ Gold for the click functionallity, they buy it because its compiled...

It's too late anyway. I emailed DKAA the code for /click, /mouseto, and the basic location parser last night. Will be in the CVS in a day or so. ParseMouseLoc is still a little rough around the edges and needs some refining, but I was able to autohunt/autoloot pelts last night for over an hour using it.
My most compelling argument for getting it released? Cutting in to Sprite's profits. Oh, I'm sure he'll take my work, put it in MQ Gold, and make a few more bucks... until word gets out that you can get it for free here.
Personally I'm not worried about tradeskill profits. My characters have always been poor and probably always will be... a shame cause I really want that horse

There's an idea... if you can't or don't want to contribute real money to the MacroQuest project here, PM me and I'll tell ya what server to meet me on for plat donations to my horse fund. 8)

sprite,
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! I will reframe from saying what I truly think. How could anyone with any sense at all post an msg like that? I want click of practicing skills (fishing mostly). Please don’t release /click because it will cause soe to do a b c, BUT I will sell it because soe only will not care if I release it. Sprite go away pls. I have not seen one post from you helping any of the devs so just go the hell away!

It will completely smurf up the market again
Awhhhh diddums do, I hope it drives Plat/$ prices through the floor, I hope it ensures there remain no profitable combines through trade skilling.
You selfish fvck.

I would love for their to be no profitable (via vendor sales) trade skills in the game. If there are none, then the use of macros are much less offensive to SOE and I can begin to mitigate much of the BS unfun game play, (and if anyone from Sony is reading, maybe pay a little longer to play EQ before it becomes not worth it anymore). I think most of the people who currently use MQ use it to make the game more enjoyable, not to farm plat to sell for RL dollars.
--Edit--
btw you all do realize that sprite is just trolling don't you?

are you guys are all seriously that clueless?
I do not support sprite in any way shape or form, in fact I told him he was an ass for selling MQ gold. But the fact remains that there were a large number of people abusing Macroquest to extremes with /click, /finditem, and /merchant and those people brought alot of attention to macroquest, a lot of unneeded attention, and those people are still around, trolling these boards waiting for you to fix it so they can start it up again. And I dont mean just a few people, I mean alot of people, ask Tux about the stats on hits on this site.
Furthermore, saying you'd love for all profitable tradeskills in game to be nerfed is a completely asinine thing to say, there are alot of players in EQ who use those tradeskills to vendor profits to balance costs, players who might not have time to sell every crafted item in bazaar (who has time for that). The problem is not profitable tradeskills, the problem is the people who macro those things and abuse them and ruin them for players who do not. So basically you are saying you do not care how you hurt normal players who do not use macroquest.
Also, your not hurting sprite or taking money out of his pocket by releasing this stuff, you know why? cause he wasnt making any, no one was buying his pos MQ gold program anyway. MQ gold isnt a threat to Macroquest, its not even on the radar with SOE, he cant even advertise it on PA. The best advertising sprite is getting right now is right here on this site.

Well, I spend tons on trade skills, and you get about, say, 95% of your plat back on successfull combines. I will agree that it is a shame there is no way to really make a living, other than through the player ecconomy, off of tradeskills, but given plat farmers I can understand where that comes from. I probably have underestimated the number of plat farmers who still use MQ. From what I have seen of the profit you can make vendor only off of tradeskills, you would be way better off just farming plat the old fashion way (i.e. killing HG's, killin frogs in OS, even just killing green mobs that drop plat). I could be wrong, I never made money off of trades, but the amounts that I think I saw were on the order of silver pieces per combine. That doesn't add up to real money unless you are leaving your toon combining for long periods, which sounds like pure plat farmin to me. And if nerfing those few combines takes the heat off of MQ users, then yes, I'm all for it, and yes that is a selfish response, but hardly asinine.

Meanwhile if you know of any uber plat macros send them my way. I'm still trying to afford that horse...
