A few Questions I would like answered

Yeah I am what you call a noob and so on, but I liked MQ in the old days when it worked and was easy accessible and even wrote a few macros myself.
I am no good at coding and things like that, only thing I can code and with some trouble is PHP so I will leave it to the brilliant ppl to do what they do best.
I used MQ for several things, and not DUAL BOXING I first got a second account recently due to cash flow was low.
So my interests in MQ? well /click is one of them, I am partly disabled in my right hand and have a lot of problems when I make arrows and so on, and yes it is faster with a macro to do the combines, but for me it is a health issue as well.
now to all my questions.
1. Do MQ work and how can a noob like me download a compiled (.exe) version that works? I got no clue on compiling, CVS and so on, I tried to read up on it and only got more confused
2. Any plans on getting /click to work again so people like me can enjoy it and start doing tradeskills again?
3. Is anyone actually still alive in here? I see some posts now and then, but there is SO much junk (old crap posts that should be removed) isn't anyone cleaning up the forum anymore?
4. Any way I can help that does not include coding and paying all the cash I don't have?
Godiwa
PS. flames are ignored, I enjoy my EQ and loved MQ when it working, I don't waste my time with ignorant people.

1. In many places on the forum, there have been numerous questions asking about this. You
CANNOT download a compiled version. Nobody will send it to you unless they are your friend. We are perfectly happy to help with compiling, not give you a step by step. There are plenty of forums that offer plenty of info on compiling. I was able to do it...so can you. You need either VS6 or .Net to compile. If you don't have these, talk to a friend or be resourceful... Oh and if you don't feel like looking about 4 topics under this. The reason there are know downloadable .exe's is there are too many abusers and keeping it source only will help to cut down on it.

2. Another question that is asked a lot. /click will be working when the devs get around to it. ETA? none. The devs work on this project because they want to. the only thing they get out of this besides our gratitude is donations. Maybe if you donate they'll get around to it...who knows.

3. I'm sorry but i don't know what in the world you are talking about. I check the boards daily. Macroquest is as active as it has ever been. We have lots more devs, and we just don't have Plaz. I'm sorry if this sounds like a flame...but any set of eyes can check post dates on the forums.

4. Well...what else is there? i suppose you could help write macros...but then again that would go under coding. I don't see what else there is....

Whether you consider this a flame or not...this is what you are gonna get no matter where you ask these questions.
+++++Not directed towards any specific people+++++
It pisses me off when people come to the boards and don't read anything and just post a question asking for help that is already available numerous times. Frankly i don't know how the others are able to put up with it. I, as well as nearly anyone else would be happy to HELP with compiling...or making macros...or coding (not me cause i can't do it). But really. People should look around first. Once again this is directed to no specific person. Have a nice day =)

Dude....
If you want click NOW download Xylobot. Click to your hearts content. Also, the fewer peeps that use MQ the better. No one gives a damn if you cant figure out how to compile this code. However, if you are up to trying something new and give it your best shot, we will help you. This is a place where we share source code between interested parties. My advice to you is: Get interested or get lost.

well thanks for answering Fwiggles and yes I do read the posts here on the forum, and I did look at CVS and I don't know anything about compilers, I read up on the CVS and it only got me more confused, I am not a hightech person at all and is not smart enough to ever become one, lowlevel stuff I can handle but harder stuff, then I fall off in the curve
When I read the forum I see some posts saying everything works great bla bla bla and then the next post I read it says nothing work and it all sucks, I don't know which one is true, or how to take them, hence my post
I am happy o hear there is still people working on it, just sad to see it has become sort of a friend/friend thing since I know none of you in here, and I have used MQ most of the time I have played EQ (Joined 1 month before Luclin came) asked for help for my first macro and from then on just looked for good tips and tricks to improve my macros and to get updates whenever SOE patched the darn servers
Then I was off EQ for a while (money trouble) and returned got started really good again and then finds out that MQ has gotten run over my a train and almost died, and I lurked around to see if MQ ever came out of ICU or was KIA, and well thats is where we are today, MQ is out of ICU but is in a closed institution for friends only, kinda sad, but I know why it is like that, just sad it is the way it has to be.

It's not "friends-only". It's "people with the intellect to gain the skills necessary to download the CVS and compile the project successfully-only." You say you're not a high-tech person; well unfortunately, if you want to use almost any of the EQ third-party software out there, you've just got to learn to be high-tech. I've got nothing against you, but I fully support the direction MQ has taken: to source-only. People with absolutely no prior knowledge of programming have purchased a cheap compiler and gotten it to work. I promise you that if you just buckle down and purchase VC++ 7.0 (NOT 6.0), you will heave a sigh of relief as you will be instantly able to EASILY compile most of the "new generation" of Windows-based third-party EQ software. Why don't we release binaries? Well besides all the political stuff, do you have any idea how much work it would be to keep releasing filepackages every single damn time SoE patches? The MQ code changes on a weekly basis, even on a daily basis; you've just got to learn to compile it to stay abreast.
I hope everyone who wants to post about this in the future manages to read this post. You won't get any help if you insist on not doing the work yourself. If you don't like it, we don't care. If you can't compile it, that's just one less end user who won't be screwing around with MQ and getting banned. It's one less notch down the high-profile ladder.
People who've read my other posts know that this is the first rant I've ever posted here. I normally don't participate. But if you insist on posting things like "I can't compile", "I won't compile", and "feed me MQ plz thx", you've got to understand one thing:
We Won't Help You.

In answer to a fix for /click:
I'm working on it. It will be ready when it's ready. Like the rest of you I have a full time job.
You may find better details on progress on this here:

Don't forget your gutting of the PERL code for me Valerian. Now I just wish they'd do that to the official version

by Valerian
yeah, well, at least the makefile doesn't compile perl by default... I don't know about the solution file or vc7 at all (since I still don't have it...)

by Mckorr
The solution file doesn't either. There are three build options, Debug, Release, NoPERL. However, I've been compiling Release, but don't have PERL installed, and it runs fine, so I'm assuming the Release version doesn't need PERL.
Could be wrong I guess, but there's certainly no perl.dll in my MQ directory and everything works.
