Compile out of Date

Hey Guys. I am just coming back to EQ after a year+ Vacation.

Through reading I have found that now the source is not set for live, and then found the name change capability for several headers.

With the current download, I changed my headers to reflect live, and EQgame to check for live.
The EQgame file shows:
#define __ClientName "eqgame"
#define __ExpectedVersionDate "Jun 22 2018"
#define __ExpectedVersionTime "10:54:39"

After completing the compile and try to inject I get the error for compile out of date, It shows my date and time should be the above listed, but it is telling me it is set for June 18 2018 12:27:50.

Is there another location this information has to be updated? Or is this going to occur no matter what and I have to use the builder/other pay option?

If I am way off base here, I apologize. I only try to use EQ for a FTP option in my spare time. If its really all going to cost to continue, i may be out of options. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

*EDit* In the bits of overthinking, I realized it is referring to my EQGame.exe. I ran my launcher, and it stays at 06/18, Deleted and reinstalled, it sets up the 06/18 exe.

From this, am I doing something wrong on my EQ side of it, or is the compile date/time still wrong? I cant get the eqgame.exe to update to 06/22.

If you are trying to compile for LIVE, that is no longer supported. You will need to subscribe to the builder service to get a LIVE version. The source is still open for TEST/BETA/EMU and if you really want to take the time every month to locate offsets, update structures, etc. for LIVE you can still use it to compile LIVE.

But, the easy way is the builder.

Unfortunately the whole point of this for me was to not have to pay. Its pretty sad that we are chocked off from live play for money. I learned how to do basic compiles from the source so I could use the little perks and such.

I suppose all services eventually just want to squeeze ya for cash. Omitting live is a mistake but, that is my 2 cents.

Off to something else. Have a good one.

No. It was the only way to limit the builds that were using active hacks on the progression servers. We needed to restrict the few files so that MQ2 could still live on all the other servers.

The cost for builder isn't all that much, $5/mo or $50/year. It's needed to help the costs of keeping the server up and running.

So, it is probably the same problem i have… I got 14 errors using Visual studio 2017. Personally, i would pay $50/year no problem but i have read for more than 28 hours now the wiki and im totally lost /panic and scream. First English is not my first language and i know how to turn on and off a cpu thats almost all. Im surprise i have been able to download and use visual studio lol. Maybe im too old to run MQ2 at 51... In fact, what i would like is to play on live with my character acting like Merc to be able to do that damn MPG trial and other thing. Grouping is harder and harder and my team are lvl 16.

I gave u a month of free builder access so u can try it.
Please report back if it works for you.
As for being 51, we have plenty of 60+ members building and running it just fine.

Using the builder is actually a lot easier than building using Visual Studio. And eqMule is keeping most of the common plugins updated.

yup and its understandable that on patch day we are going to have to wait for a new version to be released but its been two weeks now so wondering if there is a page we can log on to periodically to gauge progress?
Happy to help with testing if needed np.

Having used MQ2 for over 15 years, I think the Builder is fantastic and has made my life a little easier … ESPECIALLY … since the Builder includes support/updates for most all the popular Plugins.

Yes, the Builder costs an annual fee, but that is to pay for the hard costs (i.e., hosting costs) to keep the Builder running. It costs someone (EqMule) money to have the Builder hosted and before someone says, "well I will host it for free", it ain't that simple. There are also sub-components to the Builder that make it work and also cost money.

For those who think charging for the Builder is just a ploy to get money from MQ2 users, you have no idea of the costs to maintain the MQ2 Builder (pay for hosting, etc.), and I don't want to hear "well I have been in computers and networking for years and I know the costs for building hosted systems". For 20+ years I cringed when I would hear someone say "hey my neighbor's kid is a wiz at creating websites, he could help build software for your software company", /rolls eyes. Quite frankly, I worry that the cost to maintain the Builder is more than the fees collected, which does not even begin to address the many hours of engineering it takes to support the Builder.

The cost of EQ approaches $150 a year per account and I think many MQ2 users have multiple EQ accounts. So, the $50/year for the MQ2 Builder and all the work from the volunteers is a fantastic value.

I suspect the builder fee's more than makes up for the cost of the hosting.

I also suspect the builder fee's don't NEARLY cover the labor cost of keeping MQ patched.
