just recently upgraded my OS to Windows 8 (not 8.1) and cannot get MQ to run at all. It just continues to crash EQ every time I open it. I have run all in admin mode, changed some local security policies and tried to download the new source from here http://www.macroquest2.com/main.php?p=download

I also changed the security for the location on where the Ever Quest folder is as well as put the MQ folder on the root of C and changed security settings. Does anyone else have any ideas on what I can do to get MQ to run. I am getting to the point of reverting back to Windows 7 at this point because it is getting frustrating. I am wondering if my anti virus is playing a part in it. I did allow MQ to run at all times in my virus software as well. I am just completely lost at this point and any information would be helpful.

I did try to run MQ with all plugin taken out as well and I am still having the same problem.

You are using the old one. Update it with the one from the latest zip and u won't crash.

Got the new one and it will not even start up now. I moved everything to the root of C

Check properties on macroquest2.exe and make sure it's not blocked.

Ok so it loads now - it is saying to recompile. A friend of mine sent me what I need for the MQauth.exe

Ok it is running it seems. There are some errors but going to test it out.
