Why are all my chat channels suddenly being time stamped

Post by lodgeyboy » Tue Jan 28, 2014 12:55 pm

Previously everything was as this:

[Sun Jan 26 11:10:48 2014] xxxx begins to cast a spell.
[Sun Jan 26 11:10:48 2014] xxxx begins to cast a spell.
[Sun Jan 26 11:10:48 2014] xxxx begins to cast a spell.
[Sun Jan 26 11:10:48 2014] xxxx begins to cast a spell.
[Sun Jan 26 11:10:50 2014] xxxx begins to cast a spell.

Now it is this:

[Sun Jan 26 11:28:01 2014] [11:28:01] xxxx body begins to move faster.
[Sun Jan 26 11:28:01 2014] [11:28:01] xxxx body begins to move faster.
[Sun Jan 26 11:28:01 2014] [11:28:01] xxxx body begins to move faster.
[Sun Jan 26 11:28:01 2014] [11:28:01] xxxx body begins to move faster.

I have done nothing diferently just compile the source code and turn MQ on can this timestamping be turned off and if so how.

TIA

Sounds like you have mq2timestamp or another plugin that adds timestamping.
Open your macroquest.ini file and change TimeStampChat=1 to 0 to turn off the one on the main app, if you want to keep the other one.
Unload, or turn off timestamping on the plugin you are using to get rid of that one.
I have done nothing diferently just compile the source code and turn MQ on can this timestamping be turned off and if so how.

Many thanks three-p-o

Was in the ini set as 1 but I had not changed that from the day I first installed MQ some 2 years ago.

Read the patch notes. It was just added. That is why it is there.

That said, is there a way to have the time stamp on screen but not into e log file since the base EQ log file already has time stamps?

Hmm no idea... I never have log on cause it lags me...
I mean its of course technically possible, anything is since we can detour the log file function and strip it out... Maybe there are other solutions that's better... Suggestions are welcome.

I generally always have log on my main toon. The others not so much.
