Looting Script

Post by darksilvertip » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:49 pm

Prior to the 20111120a.zip update the looting script worked, allowing the /lootall script.

However, now it crashes EQ everytime it's used. Does anyone know what the new script is, or when the old one will be fixed, or another way to do work-around that allows loot all function to work? Thanks.

I was having the same trouble, so I did a full NEW compile of MQ2 and each plugin from scratch. I also searched the boards and made sure I had the newest versions of .inc files for looting (sorry cant remember off top of my head) and I am looting like a champ again. Not sure if it was the .inc files or the brand new compile that did it for me, as I did it all at once, but would suspect you have an older .inc file.

Thanks for the input G.O. but that didn't fix the issue. It is still broken. I am just guessing, but it was probably setup awhile ago, never maintained, and on dec 14, 2011 update, whomever did the final source code placement for us to use, never used that macro and therefore didn't have it in there source... hence it got 'removed' and now isn't working. I have tried to 'encourage' the team to look into it, but they have not been quite 'friendly' as far as suggestions or willingness to acknowledge the issue. I tried posting here, I tried IRC chatting and no one willing to do more than acknowledge my presence. So, I even did the donation, thinking at least they knew I was serious about being supportive and still no help. I guess I am stuck. I don't want to delve into the source code myself or I would have already done that, was hoping they'd have the willingness to help. Sorry to say you & I are stuck with the /lootall command not working.

Fixed in MQ2-20120115.zip but the /notify of the window should always work...

20120115.zip gives me the same problem as the 20120114.zip... incorrect client version. I guess try again???

I was just online playing, however I will try to force a update check again to make sure :). Tried compiling MQ2 twice just to make sure.

if you are getting a client mismatch and you have patched EQ, then you haven't compiled MQ correctly or you are not running what you compiled.

Ended up having to delete the entire library, re-download the zip, recompile and it is working fine. Well, not totally true... YOU FIXED THE PROBLEM, so now it is not just fine, but back to awesome, thank you!

Getting the same error on this latest patch. Havent touched the MQ2 source and it's the same EXE I was using yesterday.. Not sure what the problem is but I'll try recompiling redoing the auth file etc.

Just posting that it happened.

Thnx

*Edit* Just to be clear I am not whining or asking for a a new code release. :) Just stating I am getting what appears to be a very common error :) Just starting troubleshooting. I am sure based on all the posts on this error there is a simple fix and I am to blame..
