Hi, I'm new.
I've been playing (and multi-boxing in) EQ for years but never used any 3rd party apps, except Magelo and that Ranger Autofire app from years ago. :)
The point being I'm completely new to Inner Space and MQ.
The EQ game itself has lost a bit of its lustre over the years, and these days I pretty much only log in to raid. So the time has come to peek under the covers a bit.
My day job is programming, so I won't be needing help with how to compile etc. (although it has been years since I've dealt with C++ and my experiences in getting some of this stuff up and running have made me grateful that I moved on to .Net!)
Anyway I was a little dismayed at how old some of the forum content is and I was hoping someone that still uses this stuff could give a quick rundown on what they're using in terms of extensions/scripts etc. and where to find the latest versions of them. I'm not interested in the "vanilla" MQ at all, but MQ via IS extensions, and specifically anything done in .Net. I have gone through various posts on this forum that talk about converting MQ plugins/scripts to IS and the .Net wrappers, but they're mostly years old and I'd rather not waste time trying to get something working if it's no longer relevant. The version control around here can be a little hard to figure out, and the dead links don't exactly raise the confidence level :)
Also since I little more than a general idea of what MQ actually does, I have some stupid questions. Like is there any point to ISXEQChat/ChatWnd given that IS has its own console?
Finally (and I'm probably being a tad optimistic here), are there any sort of system diagrams available that shows execution flow through the system. ie. Something along the lines of http://www.theserverside.net/tt/article ... mage02.jpg for IIS.
