Hacking Detection Macro

I was wondering if maybe someone can make this, or give me your feedback. I am a reformed active hacker that no longer uses the "active" hacks. However, I know a good deal of the hacking community does. I wanted to write a macro or plugin that would detect this behavior. For instance last night i was killing in Seb and working my way down to trak. A Wizard by the name of Wind**** came into the zone and warped onto trak and killed him. This is the kind of behavior i want to detect and be able to report.

Also, on witnessing this type of thing, what is the best method for reporting it? /petition name with offence ?

As far as the coding, what would the syntax be to detect this?

Here is something I can think of off the top of my head. Please excuse my syntax errors and accept this is just psydocode.

Code: Select all

/varset hackpc ${NearestSpawn[PC].ID}
/varset hackdistance 0
:distancecheck
/varset hackdistance ${Spawn[${hackpc}].Distance}
/delay 1s
/if (${Math.Calc[${Spawn[${hackpc}].Distance} - ${hackdistance}) > 500) {
|#######Warp Detected Checking for Named Spawn decrease
/varset namedcountdown 3m
/varset namedspawn ${Spawn[NPCNamed].Count} <---Incorrect Syntax, but you get the idea
:namedhack
/if ${namedspawn} < ${Spawn[NPCNamed].Count} /call HackFound
/if ${namedcountdown} == 0 /goto :distancecheck
/goto :namedhack
}
/goto :distancecheck

Sub HackFound
 /echo HACKING DETECTED BY ${Spawn[$hackpc}]}
/return
I think the exsistance of such a macro or plugin would make those "active" hacking much more aware of the fact players can track and report them.

Now, that being said what kind of liability would this open to the person detecting and doing the reporting?

Food for thought

Thanks,
Noob

Hehe, I have been told that a couple GM/guides use MQ, but I have not been able to verify that....

Just remember that if you can see them warp , no one cheating would see it, the way you can. What the offender will say is either they had a camp fire up or they were camped at that spot. I some times camp a mage at spots, and CoTH my team back. Just be descriptive enough that they wont be able to debate your claim on them doing warps.

If your a ranger(or other tracking char)
IE.) I was in the zone for 3 hours by my self with Trak up on my tracking. This WIZ zoned in Named Wind**** at the Zone in, He disappeared with out a spell being casted, then a few minuets later Trak was not on tracking anymore. The Wiz was still in the zone. No other Char's where in the zone the Whole time.

1)your need the Long times so that a camp would Poof
2)you would have to state that no other players came in to the zone, IE mage
3)I hear that when some one Warps there is no spell casted
4)If your not a tracking char and your not with one then you will call attention to your self how would you know such things

5) bringing negative attention to fellow MQ2'ers, even those not blessed enough to have seen the light and reformed such as yourself, tips the sands of the hourglass one grain closer to them doing something about it that hurts us all.

When was the hall monitor ever cool?

Group campfires last for 6 hours.

Unless you know a GM chances are pretty slim they will do anything about it even with proof.

Back when folks were using that monk super damage stuff I zoned into Keal to check on tormax and low and behold I catch a blip of someone in zone then gone. The entire throne room was dead where they spawned with nearly identical timers on the corpse. I posted all the info, exact time, who, what they did, why I thought they were GK'ing ...

The petition answer was a copy/paste form and I occasionally would see the guy on line. Up till they did the big ban wave before fabled yr? two yrs ago ?

Hehe I don't think many people ran through my psydocode very well. The purpose of this is to spot someone warping ON TOP of a named mob and then reporting it to you...

Hence, the named spawn line. It was thrown together and not in proper syntax in your defence.

The plot thickens...

The same damn wizard was there again today... this time he was camping the reet's down by trak. WITH A GUILDIE. I even questioned the guildie about how they got past the door and he said that said wizard used a spell. At which point I said only a rogue or a hacker can get past that door. Informed him that I reported wizard and not to be around. Of course he played dumb, but seriously that is just crazy. Anyhow, they were warping all over the lower part of sebilis. I guess warping is much more common now than when I left the scene a couple years back.

Anyways, I guess karma is a bitch when it comes back and bites you in the ass.

Retired, but confirmed.
Course, I also don't play anymore.

And you can use the camp trick to get past the door as well.

Some might say the exact same thing about a guy who wants to use a hacking tool like MQ2 to report other people who are using hacking tools...

You can drop down into the water and swim to the lower area, and reach Trak.

Double verified. I know a guide or at least 2 that use.

I was a guide for like 2 years and use/used it, even while I was guideing.
