Need help running macroquest

Post by aussiedruid » Mon Dec 09, 2002 9:47 am

Not sure what im doing wrong here, if anyone can lend me a hand, id much appreciate it

Running Macroquest version 0905 downloaded from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/macr ... p?download

Running offsets 0927 downloaded from
http://macroquest2.com/downloads/eqgame.ini

"Patched" eqgame.ini which in my interpretation is the offset correct ? I am using 05/12 offset from this thread
http://macroquest2.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1425

My eq is patched to the most recent verant version, i do not have any pearl etc package installed on my computer, this part is fuzzy for me, do i need this to run macros ?

I run macroquest.exe an it sits in tray, i run eqw, MQ reports the following when i run eq

Incorrect Client Version : Thu Dec 05 04:07:55 2002

EQ still can load as normal, gets to character screen, can select character an get into world.

From then on i am not sure how to use a macro, is it simple /macro macroname.mac

This doesnt work, am i either missing something or executing a macro incorrectly.

I am only looking to use this to forage justice fruits in PoJ (im sure everyone started out with a tiny reason though, i can see how one may be lured into using it for more, their choice though, im not willing to do anything over the top, an im sure simple forage is very private an wouldnt bring much notice about.

Thanks for any comments

Here's the deal...I put this in another post somewhere, but I don't remember where or when.

-Make sure you have the IRC version of MQ. It's hiding (sort of) on the downloads page.
-Rename macroquest.ini.dist to macroquest.ini
-go to the 5/12 offsets post and copy/paste those offsets (with the later corrections!!!!) into the "eqgame.ini" file in the directory where MacroQuest.exe is. It's pretty deep in there, for me it's..irc-latest/IRC-20021116/Release
-Make sure offsets are in the eqgame.ini file in this folder and NOT in the macroquest.ini file. If you put them in the wrong one, reinstall MQ to get right .ini
-SAVE
-Double click MacroQuest.exe in that folder
Start EQ or EQW, preferably EQW cuz it's easier to see if it fails.
Once in the game on whatever character, you should see the words "MacroQuest Active". If you don't, try a /who. Using MQ, a /who will return all PC's, their levels, and their distance away from you. You'll know it looks different, that's the important part.

If you do that and it doesn't work, let me know. We'll get you macro'in in no time. :)

~Malachi

P.S. I'm pretty sure your primary problem is that you're not using the right version. Like I said, it's in the "downloads" page, then follow the "Beta Distribution" link. :) It'll say IRC-whatever.

Downloaded 20021201 irc, had to change the version number from the 05/12 thread to reflect the change, still didnt work, still was giving me the incorrect client version but i set client override to 1 an now it is working fine, so much easier to /macro forage.mac an go iron my work clothes etc

Not sure why i didnt see the beta irc link before, i must of been blind in my haste to dload the program, thanks for the help, i appreciate it

if you dont want the perl, just copy the dll out of /noperl into the release dir.

Keep getting "Incorrect Client Version: ..."

Post by SkackDuck » Fri Dec 27, 2002 3:05 am

I am still getting "Incorrect client version: Thu Dec 03:07:55 2002"

I am Pacific time, as SOE is...

The time on the eqgame.exe file is the same as that.

I have the latest offsets in the eqgame.ini in the IRC-20021201\Release directory. I even tried changing the ClientOverride=1, that did not fix it.

I also copied the MacroQuest.ini.dist then renamed it to MacroQuest.ini.

I even change the xx in the seconds in the eqgame.ini to 55 and it did not work.

I am runing XP Pro if it matters.
I am running IRC-200221201
I do have Activeperl installed.

my eqgame.ini is:
