after the lastest patch why isn't subrutien not being picked up any more?

Are you running mq2 scripts with ISXEQLegacy?

Why do you have "" inside []?
PS Though this in no way will resolve your issue.

On your event, you have the "string line,string text" stuff but you don't use it in the event sub. That can just be removed and have the event parameter fixed. It should look something like this:

Sub Event_MakeMyPetGoAway
/if (${Me.Pet.ID} && ${Me.Class.Name.Equal[Wizard]}) {
| Making My Flapy familiar go away
/echo #making my familiar go away
/pet get lost
}
/return
Again, this very well may not fix your problem, this is just a coding suggestion.
