I don't think it is posible but is there any way for me to change my password if I do not know it but it is still cached.

I can log in fine but I moved a little while ago and no longer have the same email the account is registerd to. This wouldn't be a problem but I need to format my drives and don't want to lose my account for good.

If it were that easy I would just change my pw there. Unfortunatly you have to confirm your password to change it or your email.

Thanks though.

this whole things smells like bullhshit. I think you just found someone who cached thier info on the eq site and you are trying to find a way to steal it. Want me to prove it? OK then! MIG_11: Call up or email SOE about your problem. All you need is the last 4 digits on the original credit card you opened the account with. that's your only way

I don't think he's referring to his EQ password since he mentions the password is "cached". He's talking about his Macroquest message board password.

However, since the account was only created in February and has about 20 posts on it, I don't see the big deal in just recreating it as DKAA suggests.

Bullshit or not, you are incorrect Skyler.

I am the one and only owner of my EQ account. I opened it in 99, and I've paid for it every penny since. I had lost my password a while back, and upon calling SOE I was told what you advised, Skyler. That being, give them the CC number of the original credit card nad they could fix me up.

I gave them the original credit card number, they said it didn't match. No problem, they said if I could give them the original email I used they could just change my email and I could retrieve my password manually. I gave them the original email (Which I still have and use to this day) and it didn't match. Then they wanted the original CD key, which again I provided. I provided the original EQ, Kunark, Velious, Luclin, PoP, and GoD keys that I had. Out of all of them, I was told that only the PoP and GoD keys matched, and that for them to do anything else I would have to provide the name in which it was first registered to. I gave them my name, they told me "Nope, it's a female's name." I tried my mother's name, my ex-fiancee's name, every damn female I knew I tried - none matched.

Just then, the CSR confessed to me that their system only goes back to 2001ish so whatever information that was on file in 2001 is what they show as the "original" information. Further, they said some customer's files are completely screwed up and the information is 100% inaccurate.

Believe what you will, but I am the ONLY owner of my account. All information I provided to them was 100% accurate, yet their system showed otherwise in all instances.

Moral of the story? Wether or not the OP is telling the truth, or trying to get a free account - SOE's system is pretty fucked for some accounts.

Aside from that, I dont' think the OP was talking about a SOE account, I'm pretty sure he was talking about a MacroQuest Forum account, in which case he should just make a new account. If he's VIP it only takes 10 bucks to get back in VIP and he can consider ithose 10 bucks a lesson learned in password management.

Yes I am talking about this forum and not eq. The reason I didn't want to recreate was because I didn't want to lose VIP.

Yes I know its only 10 bucks. However I exaust all options before spending money again.

10.00?

... You do realize the 10.00 your "spending" for VIP isnt actually "buying" VIP, but donating to the people who spend countless hours staring at hexadecimal numbers and C++ code that 99% of the world has no clue about? Think of it as paying a little something to keep the project going instead of posting 17 times trying to get an old account back.

Please don't lecture me. I realize there is work involved in this project.
If you have nothing constructive to add please leave it be. I was able to get my pw back anyway :).
