There used to be a sticky thread in the help section on how to compile MQ2 with a free microsoft compiler on the net. Anyone know were that post has been moved to?

They nuked the free tool compile help. You need to purchase the compilers now or figure it out without help from the boards.

Why would they care if someone purchased a compiler? It's not like there gonna profit from it.

No one cares if you purchase a compiler. You simply must prove that you can figure it out without a walk through. If you can't, you are too stupid to use MQ2. If you can, welcome to the club. I asked them to delete my topic. Too many people kept making "I Can't Get Past Step #Bleh" topics without putting the posts in the thread.

There are too many retarded people that are using plugins to do dumb shit openly, and I'm pretty sure most of them have used my guide.

We could care less how you get your MQ2 compiled, but we're not going to tell you how to do it. I ended some hypocritical ways here, where people wanted MQ2 to be less popular (you know, like complaining about how everyone blames MQ2 for people warping around) but told everyone and their brother exactly how to compile it, step by step, using free systems on websites.

Some people claim it's about greed or some shit like that, but to be honest, MQ2 is not a real source of $$. In fact, half the people talking about the "greedy MQ2 devs" a) farm plat which they sell for $$ (or sometimes get the plat through hacks or dupes and make far more $$), and b) are not contributors to the project in any way. As long as they can farm their plat, they dont give a shit.

Long story short, use it or dont use it, we dont care how you compile it.
