Don't think I would use that method myself...

Code: Select all

{$If[${String[${Target.Type}].Equal["NPC"]},${Target.Y} ${Target.X} ${Target.Z},]}
Could put that in your MQ2Hud. Also, I put YXZ cause I'm pretty sure that's the order it is instead of XYZ. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, for some stupid reason EQ Devs decided YXZ is better than the reg XYZ..

To tell you the truth, it was MQ devs not EQ devs that called it YXZ. EQ devs probably do call it XYZ. EQ's coordinate system is not traditional where X would be east/west and Y north/south with Z up/down. Instead it's more like .. X is north/south, Y is west/east (west being positive), Z is up/down. I argued about this with the devs some time ago and had it simply X Y Z when the MQ2Data system was implemented, but ended up putting it back to Y X Z simply because thats how it always was with MQ.

Why convert a string to a string?

Use this instead:

Code: Select all

{$If[${Target.Type.Equal[NPC]},${Target.Y} ${Target.X} ${Target.Z},]}

I tried explaining the coordinate system of EQ once before ... don't think it stuck but I'll try again.

EQ locations are based on a cartographical notation lat, long, alt which on a geometric x/y/z plane would equate to Y, X, Z.

Then why is east/west reversed?

regardless, what the hell is this post doing in the general forum instead of the help forum?
