close call!

*** edited some of the specifics***

Last night my server crashed while I was in the middle of a trade between two of my accounts. I ended up losing some 10slots backpacks and a nice amount of tinkering supplies. It was late so I gambled and petitioned to get my stuff back...the immediate logs of the transaction weren't available so they checked my pp totals from earlier and were wondering how my trade mule had ###pp to start and ####pp at the end( edited to protect myself just in case). I ended up telling them I keep most of my pp on one char but I think they were a little suspicious. The gm then asked me whether I was dong this manually or automatically.
I confirmed that I was manually combining materials(exact wording changed to provide a little protection). She ended up giving me enough pp to cover my supply cost and maybe getting new backpacks but I'm not sure she was totally convinced...in hindsight I should've just considered it the cost of doing business and left it alone but since I had been working on tuning my macros it was my whole profit for the night...I even had mq running in the background while talking to her.

Some things I learned ...unless you lose a ton of stuff it might be better to eat your losses and start over vs possibly getting banned or even looking suspicious. Also, with mq running in the background she apparently didnt notice anything so this confirms that mq isn't something they can easily tell that you are running. I logged right after that in case she was monitoring my actions somehow.

Just a little info on my experience.

Thanks for the post. I often run (though rarely use) MQ in the backround while playing. I wondered if a GM could detect it. The lose of stuff while trading between Charactors when going LD,gateing, and zoning has been a rare but known bug in EQ for a long time.

Umm, you might wanna edit that post and remove the specifics, anyone at verant can check the GM logs for who supposedly lost (x)k and received (y)k and said clicking sucks... might as well jsut use your EQ nam eon the board...

I certainly appreciate the post as well, i just htink ya migh twant to protect yourself a little better.
