MQ@Main.dll

Post by Kantiz » Wed Feb 23, 2005 5:18 pm

Getting an error message of:

This application has failed to start because MQ2Main.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Anyone ever encounter this problem? Just got MQ a few days ago. Any help is appreciated!

I'd say "a few days ago" is equal to "a few minutes ago"

Hi, my name is Kantiz. That is quite possibly my character's name but I won't tell you! SHHHH! I know SOE comes to these boards but I didn't tell you what server I'm on so they won't be able to figure it out. I just downloaded this zip file and I am not quite sure what to do with it. I know there's some instructions somewhere, but I am too lazy to look it up. I unzipped the stuff and just started clicking around till something happened and now I get this error message. Any idea why that might be happening? Once I get this working I'll be able to hack /random's right? So . . . any help please?

Let me point something out to you thats pointed out in bright yellow-background words on the download page:

DO NOT DOWNLOAD WITHOUT READING THE Introduction to MQ2. IF YOU DO NOT READ, YOU FORFEIT YOUR PRIVILEDGE OF FREE SUPPORT. YOUR FIRST QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED WITHIN.

Anyone who fails to read any part of the introduction linked there is not worth helping, nor do I feel bad and/or show sympathy for them. Sorry.

What any noob needs to understand...

Post by Mystic_Blue » Wed Feb 23, 2005 5:41 pm

This entire forum, website and project is NOT user friendly.

It is assumed that one will exhaust all resources (read the manual, read the manual again, do a search in the forums, try searching the forums again) before asking a question.

It is also assumed that you have a programming back ground, at least some degreee of it. OR that you are willing to teach yourself first, before asking questions.

Many here also believe that MOST MMORG players are too dumb. too ignorant or too lazy to do any work/thinking for themselves, and if any of this fits you, you do not DESERVE any help.

Since this site is not trying to SELL you a product, they feel no need to provide cheerful Csutomer Service.

Lastly, many here do not suffer fools lightly.

As a relative noob myself, it is my observation that the more ignorant your question is, the less likely you will get anything but abuse, UNLESS you can illustrate that you have done the work first, to try and solve the issue your self.

Most of the times that you receive a nasty reponse, you cna be certain that you have asked a question, which is clearly answered in the manual or has already been discussed somewhere in the forums.

Just trying to help you survive in these waters....Good fortune to you

The thing is, Kantiz, there is rarely a question posed on these forums, for help with compiling mq2, or a a plugin, or whatever you can think of regarding compiling or running it, that is not answered in the docs or already in another post. The more people who don't bother to read the documentation thouroughly for their answers, or search the forums, and then POST HERE, the worse it makes it for others who come along later searching for their answers in the proper way.

That is, what many, many, many forums deal with... NOISE.

The only thing that is worse, IMO, is posting garbage or continuously bumping threads that should be left alone to die, or deleted, because it has nothing to do with the forum in question, or any topic that could be of any use whatsoever.

IMO.

That being said, I suppose I just added to the trash.

EDIT: correcting language.

sadly, with friends like this, you need no enemies.

IF your friend knows anything about mq2, he would have warned you to read the introduction, the manual and about the accepted ettiqutte here.

I understand you are feeling angry and abused, but if you hope to get any help, and use, I advise you to back off, edit out your angry replies, and get to work.

I can assure you that the advantages of MQ2 are worth the growing pains and difficult learning curve.

Just dont expect to be treated like a crack baby, welfare recipient in a socialist state, in other words " MQ2 masters help those whom first help them selves"

Natural selection weeds out the rest.

That's even worse. Means you were too fucking stupid to do it yourself. Here's a thought.

ASK YOUR FRIEND WHO SENT IT TO YOU.

Never got the chance to read or too stupid to read? We don't make that distinction here. Read or be labeled a retard. Your choice.
