Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that this weekend I'll be working with the MacroQuest source and adding a couple features. The first will be supprt for using Perl for macro files, the second will be AIM support.

Using Perl for the macro language enables much more complex scripts to be written. I plan on the Perl support to run side by side with the existing macro language.

I've already got the AIM protocol wrapped up into a COM object so hooking it in shouldn't be a huge deal. It's just a matter of me getting to it.

Yeah I saw a message about Perl being worked on... To be honest, I've got a project planned that will be using embeded Perl so I thought I'd use MacroQuest as a testbed.

Unfortunatly I forgot about some family obligations this weekend so I've not had much time at the keyboard. As I write this I'm testing my barebones perl embedding. Currently I have a /perlrun command that will execute arbitrary perl scripts and I'm about to test my initial Perl module that executes MacroQuest functions.

I did take a look into the AIM stuff. Unfortunatly it was for a previous project that made extensive use MFC and ATL. It'll take a bit of work to pair it down for use in MacroQuest but I'll get it there. (Just not this weekend.)
