Cutting back the users by 90% or hell even 50% is gonna give you a lot of spiteful players on a lot of servers who cant get mq2 working, and many of them will drop the dime any time they suspect someone is macroing. We have a lot of users here, many of whom couldn't find an offset if their life depended on it, and yet sometimes those very people can write the coolest plugins and the greatest macros....

In general, just because one or two jackasses per server noticably afk macro has no bearing on the availability of the program. A lot of people who use MQ2 who aren't computer savy end up donating and checking out the VIP section for better ideas and better macros =)

Amazement

Post by Fluffy » Thu Oct 14, 2004 8:56 pm

It amazes me at the people who use this program, and then riddicule the use of it becuase it doesn't match the way they feel it should be used.. I for one use this program for a few of the plugins which are purely informational and in which EQ should have in it to start with.

But lets face it, you are a cheater if you use this program. To sit in judgment of someone who is blanantly AFK macroing is just plain stupid. The only people who have and should be able to say anything about how and where this program should be used it the developers of this program. And they do that by limiting functionality to stop that kind of abuse.

But to sit in judgment of people who CHEAT by cheaters doesnt make sense. I am sure a ton of you selfcentered people will say how you feel I am wrong and how YOU think this program should be used.. Well let me be the first to poo poo your moronic attempts at babble..

The Developers are the only one to say how THIER program should work. And they have 100% right to do so. They are the ones that work countless hours to add functionality into this game. You the user just as myself have no rights.. You dont have a right to complain about someone else using this program the way the see fit.. Use it your way and shut up about how others use it..

If the developers dont want people to AFK using this program all they have to do is post it as one has already done in this thread and then when they find people doing it banning them. Enough said on the matter.. But shame on you for saying your cheating is less then thiers... I would like to start a support group for all you cheaters who dont feel your cheating..

Hi, My name is <Insert Char Name>, and I am a cheater.... I use a program to cheat.. My cheating is not more or less then yours.. It is cheating... And I know I am cheating and will continue to cheat becuase I like the way my cheat makes the game for me...

Now this is where you need to ethier admit you are cheating and continue on with life.. Or stop using MQ!

To the Devs... YOU GUYS RAWK! Keep up the good work.

The difference between informational cheats and automated repetetive obvious behavior is that one can be seen and /reported by other players and the other lets us sit back and rake in the data that is otherwise hidden to us.
Blatant macroing of movement brings unwanted attention on the project, from players and from GMs.

I afk macro

Post by EqMule » Tue Oct 19, 2004 7:40 am

I dont play eq anymore unless I can do it afk. The reason for this is that it has become more fun to see if it can actually be done.

I have been playing for 4 years, and on an average paid for 6 accounts/month all that time.
I think im entitled to play the game anyway I can and want and I fully understand others that play it in this manner as well.

Unless the afk player ruins your gameplay I dont think its fair to petition them, and I absoulutely dont want to see names of characters posted here. All the devs have different oppinions on afk macroing though, and that is just my personal oppinion I do not in any way try to push this agenda.

I am however considering the possibility of a separate forum for afk macros and discussion for thoose of us who play eq in that manner.
My status o/
If you like MQ2 and would like to contribute, please do. My goal is 25 donations per month.
So far I've received Image donations for this month's patches.

I'm in the same boat as you are.

I haven't been playing the game all that long, which is why I suppose I still get a lot of fun out of it. But I don't mind some extent of afk macroers. Using a warp to camp something like spider silks is just a little over-the-top :P

Solution: Name names.

If someone is being an idiot, give their name and server when you flame. This thread serves no purpose.
