I just find it strange that script is posted that is compiling fine for others and not at all for me when copy and pasted. Something like that shouldn't be happening.

Been tinkering with this the last few hours and managed to clear out all errors except for one. FOr some reason I'm getting a fatal error with the
line:

#event Fizzle "#*#Your spell fizzles#*#"

Invalid even apparently. however the spelling appears ot be right so I'm not sure why this is happening.

I see you haven't read the manual.

I can tell from what you have said.

RTFM.

apparently not even though I manged to eliminate every eroror but this and one error in the original.

I wouldn't spend time following up on this if not. THere's absolutely nothing in the manuak covering events. I've looked in every section and used search.

Naeeldar wrote:Can't tell if your being picky or serious. Corrent me if I'm wrong but you run the prompt creating a folder in mq then you open the file and edit it with the script (copy and paste) then save the file. You open up MacroQuest2.sln and build the files with the program.

Now if I'm doing this wrong then correct me but if your talking about compiling I say were being a bit picky.
Consider yourself corrected. You're doing it wrong.

Now go back and RTFM!!!!!

Ok I fail to see why this error is being caused.

The event is defined so it should not be giving me this error. I've gone through the manual several times and the only other thing I noticed that could cause this error was not runnig EQAuth something I did do.

EQ was patched but the rest of MacroEQ appears to work so it's not that.

I'm outo f ideas and I don't see anywhere in the manual that would help with this. Like I said before very little in their covering the event procedure but it's defined so I don't see the issue anyway.

The MACRO as posted in the top thread works perfectly right out of the box.

Try this one out for size...

Macro is not equal to Plugin.

The steps you took to create it were those used to create a plugin. So you're whole premise is wrong to start with.

Now go back and RTFM again

Hi, I tried to go to work today in my vehicle, but when I put my sandwich in the ignition the car wouldn't start.
Sounds silly, ehh? That's what you are doing.

You EAT sandwiches and put KEYSin the ignition.

...Although somehow I'm gonna bet this is gonna fly right over his head...

Did you turn the sandwich in the ignition when you tried to start the vehicle? :P

I have to admit it occured to me last night that there was probably a seperate way for installing macros but the manual really does not cover it near as well as plugins. It's not surprising to me that you have al ot of newbs such as myself asking questions like this when the manual sort of skips over the installing of them and goes more into explaining the actual coding for it (somethign most people won't understand anyway). I've done programming with VB and C++ but this was ages ago and I still made a easy but stupid error like this.

Honestly imagien if you pointed out that the macros were installed differently you would have to deal with this less.

Even now I'm assuming that I can just copy and past the script with notepad and rename it to .mac. Still won't know for sure until I get home from work and have adecent internet connection to try on.

Actually I ment in the manuals. And smart ass comments to me don't exactly point it out. I saw that and refered to the manual but it jsut doesn't cover macro installs, it just covers the scriptign of macros which 9-% of people won't understand anyway.
