MQ Gold is coming back strong, it's being written as a MQ plugin, lots of user authentication (if you can crack the user auth you can most likely code your own mq gold), tons of features not included in regular MQ. Btw cybernerd, your friend has been banned. You should waited with posting that till I got latest struct changes updated =P I will post a new version of MQ Gold today with some updates and such.

I saw no update whatsoever this past weekend... not even today. He did post a cool msg about an upcoming patch 'today', but that was a few days ago, lol.

Everyone, I got bored last night and rewrote MQ from scratch, it's bugfree, self updating, always compatible with a new eqgame.exe, has a memory offset auto finder, auto _charinfo updater, everything. I'll post it later today for all to download. /sarcasm off

I've decided to go open source with MQ Gold, expect /nokos code etc to be posted soon. Yall have already given Verant a huge incentive to nerf MacroQuest, why not give them more?
So MQ Gold is going opensource? I'll believe it when i see it... I don't believe it's gonna happen anytime in the next few weeks as I can tell you are good at stalling for stuff. Im particular I like the 'expect /nokos code etc to be posted soon.' as you are almost implying that you are only gonna release portions of your code. I think it's more like you're saying that so Plaz and the others(including myself) that are against you will lay off your back and you can get back to making money for a few more weeks before you release your code. Heck, if someone doesn't slam you you could say it for quite a while. Put your posts where your mouth is and zip up the folder and post it. I'm sure we can figure out what the heck is going on. If you were serious you would have said 'im going opensource on MQ gold and the link is....' I am 100% against plat macros and stuff like that, but you could use your site for stuff like that if you wish. Besides, any good plat macro would be broke by SOE pretty fast.

Sprite, you need to understand something. I'm not some flaming a**hole that's out to screw your life up and come to see you in prison someday and laugh at your demise. I think you are a pretty smart guy. You took an idea and .... this is what 99% of people don't do .... did it! You actually did something. For that I have alot of respect. I am always impressed by people that take initiative in life. It's people like you that accomplish great things in their life. If you get a good college degree in computers I bet you'd be working for a very good company within a few years. There's no doubt in my mind. The reason I am so against you is that you really backstabbed every developer on MQ. I myself have added a few lines of code for some features that people have always wanted, like skip mobs that you've targeted before, cycling targets through zone, stuff like that. But I am 100% against selling MQ for money the way you did. You should have asked the question to see what is going on with people's opinions and a MQ Gold for sale for $50. If I knew that you personally lived near me I would want to be your friend. You are probably a great guy that does alot of really intelligent things in your life and you made a mistake. We've all made mistakes, but not everyone will admit it. When you post your source code you will still have 1 advantage. You provide an exe. We don't. When you provide the full source on your website i'll remove the exe post for good. I personally don"t agree with exe piracy, but technically you were doing it yourself. I figured that there is really no victim when you yourself made multiple victims. IMHO every person that paid for your product is a victim.

As for the /nokos command...

I could be wrong about this but I think that the /nokos makes the computer not send you the loc you have yourself at, and when you do /kos again it makes you update it with the server.. since it's instant KOS mobs would never 'see' you....

the other possibility is he has figured out how to take advantage of how the summoned 3rd eye spells work and he's doing something with that...

/nokos is bad news....

...maybe I'm strange, but I just see it as upsetting SOE a lot more than anything that MQ currently does, including /click. Doesn't anyone else?

/nokos is a trivial memory hack thats been around for 4 years.

its about 3 lines of code. alot of people know about, including alot of people I know who read these boards, its not a big deal. I could post the code but this isnt a hacking board and I dont think it has any place even being discussed here.

also its not any higher priority on SOE's list that Macroquest itself or any other offset or memory hack. What you have to realize is that using Macroquest is cheating, and rather you draw a line in the sand and say some forms of cheating are worse than others, SOE doesnt really care, its all cheating to them. The only real thing they draw a line about and take much more seriously are zone crashes.

Even if sprite does post his code, I'd reccomend you stop talking about it here since Macroquest has always tried to avoid being tied to offset hacking and exploits.

SOE cares about numbers Amadeus, and about the perception of their non-cheating customers. People have said otherwise in the past, but there is safety in obscurity, especially with SOE. The more people that use macroquest, the more they care, it doesnt really matter what macroquest can or cannot do.

I do not know how well DKAA has checked the code, but in the past when Plazmic was on the project he did not even seem to know about the memchecks that were in eqgame, and so at one point SOE was actually able to track how many people were using MQ and were logging it. From at least october 2002 until the launch of LoY in feb 2003, I have every eqgame.exe back to early october, and their memchecker is there in every exe, they just didnt start disconnecting people for bad checksums until LoY launch.

Structs never used to change the way they do now either, you'd see a BYTE changed to a DWORD or something like that or a BYTE[30] changed to a BYTE[64] etc but none of this scrambling of fields around the way it sometimes happens now so I def believe they care about MQ and occasionally go out of their way to mess with the project.

Who knows, maybe it only happens when someone is bored there but it happens.

What i find funny

Is sprite has been notified he can no longer touch macroquest code yet he is saying he will release it as open source. I for onw know plaz is active in persueing this and has the resources to see it through. So all this talk from sprite is bs crap since he hasbeen notified to no longer handel the code.

Can i just ask sprite to post his zonecrash code he has? Please post it to Sony so they can fix it. Or pm it to me and I will give it to Sony. Don't we all want those zones are robust as we can get?

Sprite,

You lost your license to MacroQuest when you posted MQGold without source, breaking the GPL. You're possession of MacroQuest source is illegal.
Imagine robbing a jewlery store, and started selling the stuff on the corner outside of the store. The legal system doesn't say 'put that back'...
Rob a bank today, and try returning the money tomorrow, what do you think would happen?

Is there a reason we still let Sprite post here?

The fact that Plaz is back was reason enough in my mind :) ..it's like having the Godfather back in our midst

Well since he owns the program licensing..... He has the right be the godfather here.
