Well, taking into account that they would not have planned for their servers to overflow in the first month and having to divert resources from providing early high end content to providing early servers and bug fixes... I would say that they went about things the right way, but in hindsight (which is 20/20), they should have gotten some high level content in quicker, and prepared for a huge boom in players 24x the rate of other MMOs in north america
I do honestly think theyre doing a good job considering the situation. The next MMO to come out (Vanguard?) will surely take notice and have a "plan B" ready, and will probably have more high level content immediately just in case they have to divert resources. I believe it is common practice to implement a small amount of high level content for release, and then add plenty as soon as possible afterward while people are still levelling -- and even if it isn't common practice, it's certainly what I would expect to do if I was producing a major MMORPG competing for release with another major MMORPG.

Nah what's sad is spending 8 hours to get 1/5 of a level in EQ (levels 51-59, back in the day). Or getting 9+ AA's in less than an hour. What's wrong with the levelling rate in WoW?

Just because it's different doesnt mean it sucks.
The problem I had with WoW was how easy it was. Within 3 months of launch I had 4 toons at 60. I think WoW is a fantastic game for the more casual/fun player.
I think the PVP system being open like it does destroys a lot of the fun for the casual player because of the Diablo II dewds who hit 60, and get bored, so they run around level 20+ noob areas and gank.
Having absolutely nothing to do in "endgame" and blizzard's track record for slow patching/adding content or expansions to games finally got me to cancel my accounts.
Overall I loved the game, I wish blizzard had another 6 months to work on it before it was released and had time to add more options for classes/races/skill trees.

I'd have to agree they launched a very sturdy game blending so many different previous MMO's into a new one and not being repetitive. However, Blizzard did not/has not attempted to adjust their budget for the crowd they ended up with. They have taken the cheaper road minimizing network and development costs in relation to what funds they originally expected. I enjoyed the game but the content is lacking with no signs of improvement in the near future...just rumors of a PvP zone that would quickly become tiresome. All in all, WoW is a perfect game for a beginning MMOer. I can't think of a single MMO that is easier to catch onto. I will be awaiting the next challenge.

Ok im having big troubles here compiling MARCOquest.
when i got to batch build it spews out errors like this
