Is it just me or are some people completely naive?
They dont even have to monitor zones or merchants in particular to find you running a macro. All they have to do is watch for repetetive command strings like a spam filter and you are done with high speed macros forever. Obviously this is a huge drain on resources so they are unlikely to do it, but be smart people. If you use a macro to make some skill item, the click style feedback sent to the server on the same 2 or 3 locations with the same 2 to 8 items at a rate faster than a mouse could ever be clicked by the human finger is gonna give you away. Anyone ever heard of an activity monitor? Even in battle you rarely click or make a key adjustment at a high rate, and any key besides an arrow key doesnt repeat in EQ, so you tell me how hard it is for them to find you if you 1) dont move, 2) click on your combiner device 40 times in 10 seconds 3)your inventory of items grows at a rate of 200 items in 10 seconds. I am positive that they can watch your inventory, more than ever now. Since the latest patch the character saved frequency has gone way up. Additionally, I have a friend who had a GM-admin ask him how he was able to combine 20 items in 5 seconds. Needless to say that account got nerfed. Now you tell me.. should you really be using this program for making items? Want to get them to make skills easier, sue them for causing physical trauma. Petition them to allow multiple item creation simultaneously through special skill adjustment factors. DO NOT complain when your acct gets nerfed because you ran a macro and got caught.
I have and will continue to use macros on my main account because I frankly dont care whether it gets nerfed. As i have calculated, I have spent 4 years paying a total of $650 bucks to play about 1200 hours of this game. I am a pittiful level for the time I have spent, I can never get a decent group with less than an hour of wasted time. The most interesting places and items are hoarded by the most domninant guilds, and the quests are just now getting to the point where they are impossible to do without spending weeks or months of your time planning. In that same amount of time I could have built a house, made thousands of dollars in extra income, written a novel, or fathered 1200 children. The fact that anyone is still reading this drivel is hard proof that the ability of EQ to suck the brains and life out of us all is greater than the sum of all evils. I hope you have all been duly chastized, informed, and entertained.
Thankyou, and good night!
