Now this would be awesome. Two projects that I would begin (as soon as the PERL implementation is done) would be integrating ALICE and IM features.

ALICE is the free set of AIML out there. Basicly a mark up language that allows you to create artifical intellignce (well, responses anyway). It'd be fun to set her loose in the EQ world and see how she interacts. There is a perl implementation of AIML so this shouldn't be too hard. Check out http://www.alicebot.org/ for some details and to try Alice out.

The IM implementation would be fun as well. Set it up so that you can use AIM in EQ. Implement a command such as /im Nerfy "Get in here, I need a rez asap!" Of course (and I know the anti-unattendeds out there wouldn't like this) it would also be neat to have all says and tells routed to an account. Example: Leave your character on one computer, go to the other and browse the web, etc. While browsing the web an AIM from Nerfy (an account you own and have logged in through this EQ-Macroquest-PERL-AIM frankenstein) window pops up - it reads "Nerfy: A_Newbie_01: Newbie here, gimmie some pp". You could then write back in that AIM window: "/t A_Newbie_01: I'm as broke as you are", or even "/s A_Newbie_01: I'm as broke as you are".

Hell, that IM implementation has all kinds of possibilities - you were wondering where to route your output? =) I mean, it's a new form of macroing - not unattended, but semi-attended. And don't even get me started with then routing that info to your cell phone/pager. Yeah, I'm a nerd.

Anyway, I got a version of PERL AIM up and going a while back... I know it's possible! So - let us know when you get Perl running! :)

I'm curious how far along the Perl integration project is? The reason I ask is that Perl integration was something I planned on knocking out this weekend. :)
