I will try a seperate directory to see if it makes any difference, but again, every release up to and including Christmas 2003 worked wonderful with a single EQ directory

multiple eq directories did not solve the issue. still not sure what could be causing the problem. i am very surprised others arent getting this problem.

after looking at the changelog file that comes with mq_latest, i noticed that between christmas 2003 release and new years release, when i first started noticing this problem, that there were some modifications for compiling the mq2 code with visual c++ 6...both myself as well as my friend who has the same issue as I use visual c++ 6. I wonder if this might be the issue
