Everguide,
There are many more options than selling to Yantis at Mysupersales.com or on PlayerAuctions.
Personally I sold on PlayerAuctions until I realized it wasn't worth my time to deliver 10k at a time and waste an hour or two.
So then I sold to Mysupersales.com but they only offered around $1/1k which is even low for the deflated price of plat I'm used to.
So I bought this selling guide I found on PlayerAuctions for like $25 which is no longer sold anymore. It listed tons of different places to sell on. I sold on Ebay for wildly inflated prices (10 times what they were on PA) but after two times they caught me I had my account banned. But that was great since people on there had no idea there was a way to buy/sell EQ items and some were silling to pay any price.
Now, most of the top sellers are willing to buy plat from you (not just Yantis at Mysupersales.com). These days I use BigShag (BigShag.com)since he buys from me for about 3 times more than Yantis and the others since he sells it for me for commission. I still sell to Yantis when I need money urgently but otherwise I would rather sell on commission. I hate waiting for fucking BigShag to sell the shit sometimes since Im always low on real life cash. If anyone knows some other good places to sell, let me know.
Peace,
Cicero

Normally I wouldn’t waste my time commenting on someone like Zaviar. So that’s just what I am going to do. You may disregard this message and move along.

Sorry for being new, but could anyone tell me what this cheese.mac or hunter.mac or whatever is and where to get it? I looked at the file I downloaded from MacroQuest and didn't see any files by those names. From what I gather, it automatically makes you money. I assume there is a trick like there used to be with fish cakes, where you can buy the ingredients, combine them and sell the finished product back for more than the ingredients cost, but this all happens automatically.. I'm no where near sure though.
Thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays.
I'll be nice

Since you were polite, I'll be polite too.
Download MQ from the download link.
Read the "General" forum for more help installingit.
Look in the "Macro Depot" forum for the scripts and how to run them.
Come back after you've done all that.

I did it all =)

k.. I downloaded the one off of the main site. I read what I could find. I tried going onto the IRC chat and asking for a link to the newest version, but I got no responce, and I don't know who gawk is. I checked the depot, and I saw the macros that I questioned about, but they don't seem to have much of a description... Some were sort of self explanitory, and some not. I can't quite read code =/. A few questions; Would I get caught if I tried to use MQ and how much of it works with newUI?
I still don't quite see how people used macro to make plat, but at the moment, that's not really my primary concern... maybe once I get a better understanding of the whole macro system in general, I'll make more sense of it... Thanks =)
How they do it

I move over 4 million plat per month and am the top trader on several
servers. No cheats. It's all in learning the bazaar. Buy low, sell high. Reinvest. -There are a lot of casual traders that will do heavy bazaar trading once every few months and they'll turn 100k into a million and then stop to deck out a player. They do the same things that the constant ubertraders do. If you want to know more, just make friends and ask them. The temporary baz fiends are more friendly that the ubers that never leave. The temporary get bored to play and welcome conversation.
As far as making plat with macros - I'm pretty confident those people mostly get caught. Most tradeskill combines are "fixed" nolonger profitable, and even if they're making 3k per hour, (which is high for a macro) they can do just as well as an ubertrader.

I run 6 toons at a time and just farm stuff like ornate, sleeper's tomb <fucking oow woke all sleepers>, Wall of Slaughter, Proving grounds etc... Sometimes other random crap.
Then I sell my phat loots. I was making like a mill a week.

yes a mill a week, but how much time, how many computers and real life cash have you spent making this "dream" come true.... Also what sacrifices to your health.

I think the trader thas the advantage of being able to afk and go do stuff outside of eq.
Oh off hand, what do you uber traders think will happen to the economy once WoW and eq2 come out? think there'll still be buyers to fuels your business? Just curious. Also wondering about the sellability of my own minor lewting...
Interesting thread

I was reading the thread and this one dates way back there when prices on plat were high, right now price on my server is approx 60$ per 100k, guess that goes to show those that said the price WASN"T going down that is it

I'm one of the ones who can't afford the PP

I've never bought a character and never intend to, and do dislike the obvious "eBayed" players in game, but a lot of them are just bad players using dad's main or whatever.
A friend got 200kpp for $80 doing direct business with some player on our server. Damned fool spent it all and twinked some other friend before he paid me back the 40k he owed me!
Honestly, there's very little for sale in the Bazaar regardless of price I'd buy these days. Most of the things I want are ND from places I lack flags for and what have you.
IMHO, find a good, strong, fair guild (maybe with DKP). Participate and help them, they'll pay you dividends... some of the ND loot you want, your epic 2.0, some of your high-end spells... Shelling out cash just so some data bits get manipulated on SOE's hard drive with your character record is still pretty ludicrous to me. (Even so, we do it every time we buy an expansion.)
