Maybe it has something to do with the new crash-handling / debugger stuff?
I say this because, prior to the January release, sometimes when I would launch EQ using WinEQ2 (with MQ already loaded) I would get a crash before EQ loaded. It would bring up a Lavishsoft crash screen where I could choose to send the dump to Lavish, or not. I usually just closed it and restarted and it would work OK. This was very infrequent and very random. Just something I got used to.
With the new MQ build, this random error still occurs but it no longer brings up the Lavish crash screen. I simply get the typical Windows eqgame.exe has stopped working error box. Again, I can ignore it and start it again and it usually works OK on the second try.
