So to make this work I go to run, then type

ntsd -G -c "eb 0055C8A7 0;g" c:\path\to\eqgame.exe patchme
??
cause when I do that it says something about ntsd not being there or something?? I am using windows 98.

More complete instructions

There are a few steps missing. Detailed instructions:

1. Click Start, Run, then type in cmd and hit OK. This will call up a command line (i.e. DOS) window.
2. In that window, change to your EQ directory. In my case

Code: Select all

cd\everquest
3. Enter Plazmic's command at the command prompt

Code: Select all

ntsd -G -c "eb 0055C8A7 0;g" c:\everquest\eqgame.exe patchme
4. This will cause a new window to spawn, where you will see a bunch of debug output. Ignore it, but do not close it. EQ will pop up momentarily.
5. When you are done with EQ, exit out and THEN close the two DOS windows.

The important thing here is that Plazmic's command has to be executed in the same directory that EQ is located in, or it won't find the files it needs to debug/patch.

Hope this helps clear up things for a few people.

Another option is to create a second shortcut on your desktop with the debug command.

1. Make new shortcut.
2. Right click on new icon, Take the Properties tag.
2a. Select the SHORTCUT tab
3. Where it says TARGET use the code provided by Plazmic.
4. Click Apply.

You now have two icons to launch EQ one for NEWUI and one for OLDUI.

ntsd=Symbolic Debugger for Windows 2000

==sangoku22==

Please help me out here. You say you are using Win98 correct?

ntsd is the debugger for win2k/XP. So you don't even have this binary and even if you were to try and lift this and use it on 98, it wouldn't work.

Pay Billy more money and get XP so I can get a raise plz :lol:

I couldn't take the pain from my sides hurting anymore :wink:

Crash Problem, Click Problem

Using Windows 2000 OS, have latest offsets from the offset thread and am also running the newer 0055C8A7 command. This brings up a windowed version of EQ with the old UI. However I am still getting the beforementioned left-click stack crash (easily surpassed, just dont click) however I'm also getting the original can't use the left click problem that appeared with the new EQ patch. not sure If I'm missing anything. Any ideas?

Hi...

Ok it works ..however i have a window size problem..the game starts and i have eq in a window ..ok..but it not my computer size..if i make it to 800-600 i get a small window..if i make it higher it s a window on my desktop..

And I started for example the /macro bagit equip
it tells me usage left click right click mouseloc..

Any ideas to solve this 2 problems?
